I need some advice. I am in the market for a new riding mower.
I have a little over 2 acres with some pretty good slopes.
Here is the twist? I can't use my feet for pedals due to several operations.
My biggest concern are the slopes. The best I can tell it would be safe to say it is about 17-20 degree slope.
I can spend about $4k.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Forgot to say? Stand behind is not an option for me either.
Thanks

If you can't use your feet for pedals I would recommend a zero turn.

You can get a good lawn tractor with a hand lever for the speed control.
And will be better then a zero turn on the hills.

First off sorry to read about your operation.
I have a bad back myself, injured it pretty bad several years ago and I buy everything I can to make my life easier to allow me to still do normal activities I use to take for granted.
On your sloped property can you mow up and down?

If you just want to modify your JD 318 there are a couple of companies that make add on controls that sets things up to make it easier for you to mow, levers attaching to hand controls etc and here is one company below.
Check out the Technical articles at the bottom for Hand Controls. Disability and Agriculture Resources - National AgrAbility Project
