I was able to purchase an upgraded complete mounting bracket kit as well as a new upgraded crossmember brace. I will certainly look at the integrity of the front and rear brackets. They both appear to be uneffected They're both of heavy gauge steel unlike the flimsy middle brackets. I shall find out. Depending on accessibility, I may just replace them anyway.I would suggest checking all the other frame and mounting bolts to be sure they are properly snug. Sometimes when something like this happens, the additional stresses show up in other areas. Because it is a common point of failure, the new parts are designed to solve it. This is also a good time to pull the engine shroud and make sure the fins are free of debris for max cooling.
In the engineering world, stiffer and stronger aren't always the answer. The loads just get transferred somewhere else. Hope this is a correct solution for ya.The replacement brackets are made from steel twice as thick and more beefy. Definitely a needed upgrade.

Mentioned not to induce doubt but perhaps a search for those who have done the replacement and reported different results. Also in the world of engineering, it's a mower and not an airplane or a car or truck whipping down the road with 80 tons with something about to happen. My guess is it's fine.Funny you bring that up.
