Hello all, first time poster here. I appreciate all the good info on this forum. I appologize for the long post up front, but I think the details may help with a solution.

My uncle recently gave me his 928D. It came with several problems, one of them being a broken right side hydro belt. When dropping of the mower, my uncle mentioned that about a year prior when mowing his lawn the right drive started acting wierd and then the belt blew. He didnt think much of it at the time figuring it was just the belt going. The mower sat for about a year before he decided to give me the mower. While loading it on the trailer, he opened the dump valves so it could roll and the right side dump valve was stuck closed. He used a pair of vice grips to force it open. So when i got it the first thing I started on was replacing the belt. While doing that i found that the idler pully was broke and i figured that is what caused the belt to blow. So i replaced the idler pully too. Then I went to close the dump valve and it was stuck open. Using some force and tapping with a hammer I was able to get the valve closed. So i got it up and running and it works, but the right side steering was sluggish when starting out and changing directions. The right hydro also squeeled alot (the left does not). I talked to our local dealer and he suggested changing out the filter. I did that (filling the new filter with the grasshopper brand hydro oil) and it has helped a little. It feels a little more resposive and squeels a little less. But not near the smoothness of the left hydro.

Any suggestions on what I can try to nurse the hydro back to life? Thanks in advance.
