Hello I’m currently working on a home built brush mower, to power it I bought a 17.5hp ohv Briggs engine. The problem is the carb just has a small piece of tubing to a fuel filter. For the gas tank I’m using a 6 gal marine tank gravity feed isn’t an option. I’ve looked into putting a Briggs pulse powered fuel pump but I haven’t found a fitting on it. I looked at the 540cc Briggs 19hp which was basically the same thing with an oil filter and a fuel pump. The pulse hose connected to the side of the engine but my 17.5 doesn’t have the connector. Is there a way I can add one to the engine or do I need to buy the 19 horse engine? I’ll post a picture I took of the 19’s pulse hose it seemed to be in a odd spot.

Take a valve cover off, drill & tap 1/8" NPT on top and buy a brass 1/8" NPT x 1/4" straight brass fitting.....you're set!

I’ve seen that on smaller engines but is it bad that it’s not in the 19’s factory spot? Thanks for the replies I’m hoping the valve cover will work out. Also what do you mean straight brass like a barb fitting or something else?
