Sure: .... WELCOME to LMF...
It sounds like the governor is disconnected, There is a spring at the carburetor that holds the throttle wide open... the Governor linkage pulls Against that spring to close the throttle.
You have either bent or binding linkage OR disconnected or not functioning governor...
Look over the linkage around the carb to see if anything is amiss... :smile:KennyV
Ok pulled the carbs and discovered the butterfly has come off and don't see the screws. I am thinking about pulling head to see where screw went too. Engine runs but wide open no missing can pull lever between carb and governor and runs smooth , but as soon as i release it goes racing again. I am being told governor inside engine. Like to hear others opinons.
sounds like you need to find the screws and put the butterfly back in the carb and it should be fine without the butterfly its like running wide open nothing to restrict the air and fuel flow
Reconnected butterfly but did not find screw and it still runs wide open. When i move the governor by hand it runs great but as soon as i let it go its wide open again.
The governor is always trying to over power the spring that holds the throttle open... if the governor is not adjusted correctly, it will not be able to pull against the spring.... :smile:KennyV
