I have a 46" mtd Yard machine. The other day one of the springs broke and I'm guessing it's the one for the drive pedal. I replaced it but one of the belts is still lose. Don't know if it takes another spring. Can anyone help me out to figure out the problem. Would also be great if someone has a picture of the spring diagram

do yourself and us a MASSIVE favour
o to a parts etailer web site , Jacks, part tree etc etc and locate your mower
navigate to the drive setion and post tthe URL of the page then mention the number of the spring so we can all see what you are talking about.

Yes two springs side by side
Check the anchor point on the mower and on the tension arm # 73 in your diagram
The springs tend to cut a slot in both of them .
I am forever filling these slots with welds or welding a thicker piece of steel for the springs to hook over.

So the 24 spring goes to 73 and the other end of 24 goes with the 21
