4 cycle Ryobie trimmer woes

Can get the trimmer to start but if have to stop it for any reason (change line, etc), starter rope becomes too
hard to pull. Have to let it cool before attempting to start again.

Becomes very hard to pull starter rope - feels almost like it is locking up.

If you're not experience a kickback and only difficulty in pulling the rope, it could be the rope has tangled within the housing or perhaps the spring. See if this applies to your trimmer.
