This has not been running for a few years, so I had it serviced and everything seemed fine. Long story short, the blades are hitting together when I engage them, and sometimes in taller grass. I can't figure out what is wrong. Nasty noise and the blades are ruined after 10 minutes of mowing. The toothed belt is not jumping and both blades are on tight. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Spindles wobbling? Wrong blades?

If I remember right that unit has a timed blade system, which means that if it is out of time, the blades will hit each other.

It is a timed blade setup. But even when the blades are set so that they shouldn't interfere, they start hitting when I engage them, like something is letting them slip out of time. But I can't see what.

I recently had the same problem. Turned out one of the belt pulleys on top for the blade was split. I couldn't tell until I removed it because it was cracked on the bottom side of the pulley. The belt seemed tight enough but was slipping. Replaced the pulley and it's fine now. Hope this helps.

Does anyone have any sites of videos I can go to to fix my 33" craftsman wide cut walk behind mower? to put it back in time?

Thanks

As suggested earlier.
Take the pulleys off the spindles.
The pulleys have to be keyed to the shaft, either with a key or a spline or a shear pin.
If these have broken down then the blades will continually go out of time.
