I need help. I have a 3 year old cubcadet zero turn. Last year I had to replace the battery 3 times. All where brand new batteries. I would take them back to where I purchased them and they where checked to varify they where dead. I was told that they all had charge, yet they would not turn my mower over. This year I purchased a new battery. The mower worked great no problems and the mower started with no problem. I thought maybe there was some kind of drain on the battery so I removed the positive cable and left it off. Then I went to use it last week and it worked fine for about 3 hours. I then shut it down to move some stuff around and got back on the mower and got the clicking of a dead battery. I waited a few minutes and tried again and this time nothing. I walked away from it and was off of it for about 30 minutes. My son went over to it, got on it and tried to crank it. It cranked slowly, he shut it off then he cranked it again and it fired and was ready to go. Well today I went to use it and I'll be if I don't have a dead battery again. This battery is only 2 weeks old. Can someone please help me.... I am at a complete lose. Thanks:)

WELCOME to these Forums....
For any battery to work, it only needs to be able to hold a charge, And deliver the appropriate current when needed...
IF you have a good battery, You will also need the supporting components to start an engine.
BOTH cables need to be Clean and tight at BOTH ends of those cables.
The starter solenoid must be functional & dependable.

You need to start taking some Voltage readings, check for voltage drops on the starter circuit, While it is being used... You will find the point causing the problem easily.

The other side of a battery system is the charging circuit, it also must be fully functional... But from your description, Your problem is in the Starter circuit. Very likely a corrouded or otherwise Bad connection.... :smile:KennyV
