3.5 HP LEV 120 oil dip stick leaking

Just bought a used small aircraft tug with a LEV120 engine that needed some work.
I removed the shroud which exposed the oil dipstick housing and accidentally it became dislodged. Removed the seal and the round tube and reinserted it but it is still leaking oil a bit.
Is this a common issue and would the use of some silicone sealant help or should I just order a new tube and gasket?

90% of the time you can fix this problem with just a new seal. Tecumseh part number 37610 for about $2.00.
