I will be selling my Kubota. More than likely I will be over on the JD forum. It's a shame that the T2290 has such a poor drive belt design, because I really liked the mower. This has been a nightmare from hell.

Sivicman, I am sorry to hear this as I love my T2290 with one exception the one wheel drive, on an incline the mower will not move when one wheel loses traction, a pain.
I attempted to return it after only a couple hours on it and they said they dont do trades that they have a company that will offer them a price.
Wow! now the belt problem, I think I will sell mine also and start looking or just use it for a trade in. Im 80 and not looking for this type of hassel.
I have an old B2620 tractor that has worked flawlessly for many years, one of the mechanics at my local dealership mentioned for me to keep the old tractor because the new ones are not as good. What a shame.
If I could find an old cub cadet or wheel horse from the 1960's I would go with that.
Good old reliable easy to work on.

Yes sir, I liked my T2290 also for the most part. It's a shame that a name like Kubota and their quality has gone way down. I don't blame you for hanging on to the B2620, they are a great tractor. My dealer told me to sell mine because it's a very expensive mower to maintenance.
in my book, that's crap. i own a kubota tractor. pretty simple to do most things on it.
When you say,the right tools,can you explain in more detail.Thanks,it's always best to stay ahead of the game.Way back in 1970,we had an Ariens 26 inch cut rider.You could tip it up on it's square back to change the blades and clean the deck.The handle bars,steering wheel flipped over so you could move it around.Sometimes the simple machines would work so well!!

My 2023 T2290 has 160 hours on it and drive belt is getting splits and making ticking sounds from idlers. Ordered the pullies and a new belt and was taking old parts off to get ready. Dang, what is that stupid steel plate blocking the tensioner pullies??? I think the only thing that will be a struggle will be removing it. How do you remove that steel plate encasing the idler pullies (drive belt pullies that is)??
The biggest issue seems to be getting that steel plate off that encases the drive belt idler pullies. How, anybody?
