The fs adds a sleeve around the filter element. The fx has the big canister filter and I believe an oil cooler. Also I think there are some differences with the carburetor. Are the alleged changes just with the SD or with the regular fastrak as well?

I really do not know. One of the techs took me to a display and showed me the engines and that the main difference between the engines were starter and air filtration (as in canister vs. integrated). I'm a frikken noob to this, so please dont take what I say as gospel.

Thanks guys...

I'm still needing help deciding on a new mower.

Glad I got my 2014 Fast Trak SD before the 2015 came out...not impressed with the changes for the most part...like the bigger tires and deeper deck but the brackets used for the deck drop would be a deal killer for me...if the deck ain't chain hung I ain't buying it...bottom line!

I don't like the direction Hustler is headed. The big box store thing was inevitable but that makes the next line up, which isn't available in box stores, more critical. Delays in releasing the new Fastrak and even moreso on the Raptor flip up. Might as well have released them for 2016...would be different if you couldn't already buy a flip up deck in a different brand. To me the tire thing is pretty much a wash, taller yes but a bit narrower. Hopefully Hustler doesn't forget who got them to where they are today...the small engine shops...not the big box stores.

By the way I did the same as you...went with an older super duty and I love it. Yes the deck packs under certain circumstances but far from a deal breaker. Does as well or better than anything I've tried.

What year model do you have?...and me too..by far the best mower I have ever had...installed a set of gator blades on it this year and really like them as well...definitely a step up from the stock blades or whatever came on it...AND added a set of flex forks on it soon after I bought it and that's when I truly fell in love with my lawn mower.. Lol!

I think it's a 2010. I had plans for flex forks and/or the Nothern Hydraulics suspension seat but so far I'm liking it ok as is. Run 8 psi in the tires all the way around and slow down a bit...the ride isn't bad at all. If I were a commercial guy I'd definitely go for the upgrades, though. The seat platform was rubbing/binding and I did a bit of bending/adjusting to make it float better. Also the controls seemed loose, I tightened the pinch/clamp bolts where the arms pivot and that took a lot of the slop out.

Been wanting to add a suspension seat to mine...do you know which one will work on the FT?

And we're pretty close on those tire pressures... I run 9 in all of mine.
