2015 Gravely ZT 50 Zero Turn

Hello all,

I just had my off season service completed and got it back from dealer with starter issues. I can start it without hooking Battery Charger pulling 200 Amps. It will start right up after that. Has anybody had this same issue before or have advice on where to look? I am guessing starter but only novice.

Hook some jumpers up as follows
1) battery - to a good ground near the starter
Starts fine = bad ground cable or connection

2) remove ground jumper & jump from the battery + to the solenoid
Starts fine = bad power connection or cable

3) jump from battery + to starter +
cranks fine = bad solenoid
Won't crank = bad starter

4) then cranking without the spark plugs
Cranks fast could mean bad decompressor depending upon which particular engine you have in it

This is of course generic information but a starter is a starter is a starter .
