I have a 2005 Broadmoor 1694682. The Blades will not turn on. Started out the blades would turn on and run fine for a few minutes then the blades would abruptly shut off and then a few seconds later the engine would die. I replaced the PTO switch. Problem persists. Now the PTO will not engage at all. I disconnected the switch at the PTO and checked for voltage and am getting nothing. Seems like a safety interlock issue but without wiring diagram I cannot tell. By the way this issue started after I washed the machine with a garden hose. Seems every time I wash it I have problems with the safety switches. Usually the switch at the brake. Any ideas?
First idea is to stop washing with water.
Blow the mower off with air not water and save the water for a sudsy bucket to make the body look pretty.
Nearly all of the safety switches are ground circuits so they are really adversley affected by water.
This also makes them dificult to diagnose.
You could not have picked a more difficult mower to have electrical problems.
This is 2002 which I think will be the same.
The bold lines are the wires in the PTO circuit. View attachment broodmore 2002.pdf
