My son gave me his White Outdoor riding mower to fix. The short block was cracked and was leaking excessive amounts of oil. He bought a replacement short block and I transferred the internal parts. One problem is that there are timing marks on the two plastic gears under the cover. I am not sure which ones I should use. They are marked in and ex.

The linkage for the carburetor was off the mower when I got it. Does anyone have a picture of the proper connections? The carburetor end is fine it is the box that is attached to the cover next to the oil filter.

Thanks

Another dreaded Kohler Krack.
maybe we should start a Kohler Krack Klub
Kohler use the same cam for both inlet and exhaust so each cam has the timing mark for both.
The one on the carb side is timmed to the IN ( inlet) mark and the one on the exhaust side gets timed to the EX mark
Make sure the one you put on the inlet side has the bob weight & lever on it , that is the compression release.
You will find a diagram and all the information you need in the Kohler manual which you can download free from here.

I just delivered the last of the 3 Courages yesterday so no joy on the photo.
Good luck
