Dug out my snow blower, Homelite 320, 2 stroke with a walbro carb. put in fresh gas and got it running, but it keeps spitting gas out of the primer bulb. Have never worked on 2 stroke before, does anyone know what might be the problem?

And exhaust port is blocked so when the piston opens up the inlet port the crankcase is pressurised

Can that be easily fixed?

Take the muffler off and have a look
People tend to run two stroke mixes that are too oily thinking it is good for the engine
In reality it cokes up the exhaust port so the exhaust can't get out.
Bugs also build nests in exhausts but usually that would happen over winter .

Took off the exhaust, the port looked good. I ran it for a couple minutes without the exhaust and it still spit gas out of the primer. I guess I might just have to use it that way.

You need to post pics of this. All angles of the engine. This sounds weird. It's so old, it may be a reed valve intake. I can envision more fuel than reed valve passes thru - spitting excess out the carb.
