1990 MTD Yard Machine battery

The machine has a 12hp 42 inch deck that in 2020 I installed a YTX12-BS battery (10Ah/180CCA)
Can/should I use a ST5L-BS (4.5Ah/80CCA)?
Was the first battery selection overkill?

Just did my homework and going to buy another YTX12-BS, the other battery is too small for the size of the engine application.
I could go one battery size up (YTX14-BS) but I don't see the need to.

Going forward, volts, size and configuration are the most important factors when purchasing a mower battery. Next comes CCA. The Ah rating can impact battery life but I wouldn't pay extra.
