Hey Guys,

New to the forum, I have a 1990 L20ZPRB mower and i'm looking at a 1960 Snow Boy blower thats in great shape.

What is something like that worth? It's red in color and all original.

Thanks.

Tom

If its in good shape and you want it its worth what ever you will pay for it. I would say go on craigslist or E-bay and see what they are asking for snow blowers. I take it you want to get the seller to lower their price ? Just throw a low ball price and see what happens, the most that can happen is a no and they throw you off their land or they might counter offer??? I have had both things happen to me.

An older one like a 1960 should get more than a later model for sure since this is a pre-Gilson manufactured unit. Lawn Boy snow blowers and snow throwers not long after that were manufactured by Gilson, who had a huge capacity and rebranded to many names like New Holland, Ford, Plymouth, Artisan, Montgomery Ward, Master Craft (or Canadian Tire depending on the year), Senator, Mor-Power, Wizard, and a few others. Lawn Boy bought Gilson in 1988, then Toro bought Gilson in '89 and discontinued the entire lineup.

Since it is pre-Gilson and unlike a huge percentage of vintage snow blowers out there, it's a collector's piece for sure. I have a first generation Gilson from 1967(second year of production) that is all original that I paid $60 for, but I'm sure if I were to sell it as is I could list it for $100. Lawn Boy has a much bigger following so somebody may be willing to pay much more.

Kind of a long response with no real answer...

I did a quick search and found a few Snow Boys that had sold in the neighborhood of $100

Thanks guys.

He's asking $100 for it... we'll see if he comes down a bit.

I'm a big 2 stroke fan and would just like to have it in my collection.

Thanks,

Tom

There is a forum called snowblowerforum.com with some folks that would know what its worth. There is a thread that is looking for the oldest snowblower, working/nonworking. Maybe you could check it out and see. If you find what you are looking for post here and share some pictures of your Snow Boy.
