16hp vanguard stalls suddenly

I am having trouble with my 16 horse vanguard. It is installed on a toro 3050 greensmaster. The motor will fire right up after sitting a while. About 10 mins later under a load will barely sputter then die. Sometimes it will fire right up and sometimes you have to crank it a while. It will then repeat this until left to sit a bit. I by passed the fuel solenoid at the base of the carb. I found a loose battery cable at the starter solenoid and fixed that. I then found a cracked line coming from the valve cover to the fuel pump and made that repair. I replaced the spark plugs and then the fuel pump. All to no avail. I tried it without the gas cap and all the safety switches seem to be working properly. Any advice would be deeply appreciated. Thank you

Could there be something floating around in the fuel tank that is cutting off fuel flow. I have found grass, flies, rubber fuel line parts in tanks. Are you getting good fuel flow through the fuel filter. Just some thoughts, but I have been wrong before.

Where the fuel line goes into the carburetor, I've seen foreign matter get down in there and starve the engine for fuel, not letting fuel come through the needle / seat area. Check the carburetor bowl for sediments, water, etc. Blow it out, or squirt it out with carb cleaner. Also work the float up and down and watch the needle while you squirt it too. With the mower sitting still for a while, the blockage will float off the inlet, stir it up and it'll get sucked down on the inlet and starve it for fuel. The fuel filter is ok?

Check for spark when it shuts down. Coil may be opening due to heat. If no spark replace the coil.

Pulled the fuel line from the tank and found a bark buildup in the pitot. The guys check the gas with the nearest stick. No more. Thank you very much. Rod
