1622 Grass Hopper

Hi, I recently purchased a Grass Hopper 1622. I ran these quite a bit, many years ago, for a lawn service. This one, moves ok, on flat land. Seems a little slow, from what I remember. The real issue seems to be up hill. I seem to have to put excessive pressure on the handles, to get it to climb. Is there something I should check, or is the pumps just worn out? This mower was produced from 1985-1991, and is old. If you can change the hydraulic oil, do so. Probably worn out hydros.

Pumps probably getting weak. Might try Lucas Hydraulic Oil Booster and Stop Leak up to 50% in power steering pump. Probably not that strong in a hydro. Say around 30% or so. When I change oil in a hydro, I run it at around 20 to 30%. I ran across some at a good price a few years ago and bought a case of the stuff.
