You should probably mention the engine manufacturer and the application.

If it is for the Briggs & Stratton on your murry mower post the numbers from the engine... it will make looking them up a LOT easier... :smile:KennyV
Just noticed this is your first post... Welcome to the Forum...

Still no luck on the model #. The B & S is a 400707 14 hp twin(older). Can I put a 2001(16 single) starter into the older housing. How do you remove the pin from the older starter?

Champion J19LM Spark Plug, Yes you can use starter from single cylinder if you change top mounting plate. Remove starter from engine and support end just above starter gear in a barely opened vise and drive out pin with punch and hammer.

Thanks for all the help. Now I need a picture of the carb-gov assembly. the previous owner "mickey moussed" it. The engine runs with the choke on
