13 hp engine on pressure washing machine -oil fills with gas?

Strange! I have 2 backup pressure washers and both have 13hp Honda engines. After storing them for almost a year in my garage, I noticed that one was leaking oil out that smelled like gas?
I took the oil cover off and the gas/oil came pushing right out! The other one didn't leak oil/gas, but the oil was full of gas, when I checked it and it came pushing itself right out.
Been in this business since 1989 and never saw that happen before???
Anyone know what is wrong and how to fix them?

Yep you can't store gas in a unit that long anymore with out it crapping up the carb which causes it to start leaking and then you get the problem you are having, there are amny different thoughts on how to store them for a longer period of time from running them dry to leaving with fuel with a stabilizer in them, The other problem I see with P/w are the pumps get corroded up also when sitting for that long. My suggestion is since you are in the business I would rotate them out/in service every month so you don't have the problems.

Like Duffer72 said... you could also incorporate a fuel shut off valve in the fuel line if you have a convenient access point... :smile:KennyV

Time for carb rebuild and oil change . Ethynol eats the inside of the carb up . Gas by natural weight is forced into the engine .
Stabyl & fuel shut offs are a must now .

I had Stabyl in the fuel.
I'm wondering if it could be the needle valve?
I took the float bowl and float/needle valve out last night and the needle looked a little thin tipped?
Maybe the ethenol ate the tip down and it trickled in?
I am going to run all my engines dry from now on, before I store them!
