1.25" crank

I have a 2015 John Deere D160 riding lawnmower. I had to replace the engine because the governor on the original one came apart and trashed the inside of the engine. The new engine has a 1.25" crankshaft extension where the old one had a 1". I need the Drive Belt Pulley that will slide onto the 1.25" crank. Does anyone know of a part number for what I need? Everything fits perfectly and the engine starts and runs smooth. Just need a different drive belt pulley. The part has a 3" pulley at top, is 4.33" long and has a 1" clutch shaft at the bottom.

That's an unusual size; 1" is standard. No idea where to even begin. What kind of engine did you put on it? Those came with a Briggs twin, I believe. You need to put a compatible engine on it.

What engine did you remove? Make, model? John Deere installed several different ones on the "D" series riders.

Sounds like you went to a larger horsepower engine. They do have a bigger crankshaft typically.

You need an engine with the same crankshaft dimensions as the original engine so everything can fit and operate properly.

You might get lucky and find something similar with image search (Google Lens). Take a picture of the pulley and drag it into the search window and see what comes up. You may have to try a few different angles, then refine your search with different keywords.

Hmmm. I have yet to see an small engine for rider that has a 1.250 (1-1/4) PTO end. Are you sure you don't one that is 1.125 (1-1/8)?

And converting to another pulley shaft setup will be difficult but contact JD to see if any of the thier mowers use a similar shaft setup that is 1.125" engine PTO size.

I agree, probably not a lawn mower engine . Might be off of some generator or special machine. I think the last morph dike crankshaft I messed with was a Power King 1816 made in the early 70's and maybe a Generac Generator out of a news van. Wisconsin Engines was also the thing that nightmare's were made of.

I would say that you not going with the original engine is a mistake, some reason why obvious the pulley for the transmission and the drive pulley for the deck will not fit, so now you have to start looking for tha if you have a electric clutch that won't fit, if that is an aftermarket engine or one that come of off another engine that required a larger shaft for whatever reason you are not making a good choice, bit the bullet and get the original one, yes they are expensive but if you take care of it it will last a life time, besides mechanic work I do machinist work, have taken the larger shat machines and turned them down to 1' or 1 1/8",I don't see the trade off to be wise but most like you probably got it for nothing but the hiding cost is hid for a short time, good luck.

Not a generator engine as they use a tapered crankshaft. Water pumps use a threaded shaft
