04 227 command (ch740-0036)
It starts and runs fine, blades engage fine.
My issues is when I start cutting, after 5 to 10mins it will try to die when it does I turn off the blades and wait for them to stop and turn them back on and go to cutting again. The repeat the process when it tries to die again.

I've bypassed all safety switches one by one thinking I had a bad switch. But the problem is still present

Im not sure what to do next. And advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Mike

With the engine running, check your voltage at the battery first, it should be 14 + volts.

13.98 with engine running at WOT
12.42 with blades on at WOT
My battery is 3 years old.
Do you think it can be good to start it but not enough amps to keep up with the demand of the engine and clutch ?

No those voltages are fine. No problem with the battery. Does it act like it is losing power and bogging down? When this happens, can you KILL THE ENGINE and then reach under the deck to make sure there's not a collection of grass?

No. It's like I turned off the key at WOT with the bades on. As soon as I hear it I hit the PTO switch, the engine comes back.

No binding in the belts or spindles. Everything turns freely.

Mechine has 2347 hrs on it.

I'm wondering if I have a clutch that's starting to short out.

Is there any way to test the clutch ?

It's non adjustable
