Best way to remove rust from fuel tanks

What works best to remove rust from the inside of fuel tanks?

I have push nuts in the tank with some carb cleaner and shuck the crap out of it. Doesn't polish the inside but will knock the loose stuck out.

Rust anywhere is a bugger to stop & control... if its a small tank you can remove it and tumble sand gravel inside to remove the worst part and follow up with a fuel tank cleaner coating kit like : Gas Tank Sealer Kits... You can find similar tank coating kits at most motorcycle shops... I have cleaned several and coated them with great results.. you can usually do 3 or 4 small fuel tanks with one kit, so it is not very costly... :smile:KennyV
