    Winter Storage

I thought I had mowed my last time of the very dry mowing season but it started raining again so I had to get mowing again. Now that it's December, I think I can now safely put it away:>)

Well Mowing season is just about done here

I'm in North West Louisiana USA about 80 miles south of Shreveport. Most people when they hear Louisiana they think Cajuns, swamps and Alligators but in North Louisiana it's red clay hills, Pine Forest, creeks and Red Necks:>) I don't ever keep up with hours of operation. I just change the oil...

    1989 Wheel Horse

I was always impressed with Wheel Horse mowers and one day I got a chance for a free one if I would just go pick it up, so I did. Did a lot of studying on it, down loaded a manual, bought some parts and got it running. It needed a lot more work but I enjoyed riding it around my property...

    Racing mower build

I have an old Craftsman 42" cut riding that the deck was rusted out and removed. I considered the same thing on it but the more I looked in to it I realized it was way deeper than what I wanted to put into it--so there it sits:>)

My Ranger still has has its unmolested original engine but I done a lot more than change oil and filter! replaced heater core, new stabilizers for front suspension, new breaks about twice, new front wheel bearings, U-joints, new hood hinge, new headliner, new alternator, new timing belt at least...

Well Mowing season is just about done here

Everybody burns around here. No big deal long as there is no burn ban on. In that part of the yard I'm not concerned about a perfect blanket of grass, only the grass around the house. IMHO it grows plenty good even with the burning as long as we have rain.

Well Mowing season is just about done here

Leaves, I usually let them lay until pre-spring just before the grass starts growing and grind them with the mower around the house. To me leaves on the ground is part of the decorations of the winter season. On the lower side of the yard away from the house, I usually burn those leaves in...

That's a fine looking F150! Looks like you could go about anywhere in that. I like not having to pay a note on my Ranger, haven't paid one in a long time--some pretty hefty repairs occasionally but that goes with old trucks

I got to where I get it all dun with a 42" Husq rider and a HD Stihl weed eater. 1.8 Acres and a lot of trees(and roots). The self propelled push mower hasn't been fired up in a couple of seasons. I'll probably touch up the high spots before I run them dead dry of gas and put them away. It...

My 1994 Ranger is up to 399K original engine. Had it from new and always change the oil/filter & grease ever 5K miles. Had multiple people stop by wanting to buy it. Well Mowing season is just about done here

A real long dry spell seems to have ended the mowing season kind of early this year. I guess if it starts raining again before the first frost, might get a little more growth. At least I picked up a new angle grinder this summer and got a new faster/better way to sharpen my blades now as oppose...

    Bench Grinder Wheel Replacement

Hello, as OP I picked up a Bauer 4.5"/7 Amp/11000 RPM Angle Grinder and a 1/4" thick 40 Grit Hercules Grinder Wheel today a Harbor Freight. Blade engagement cable LT 2500 Craftsman

Have you checked to see if the deck tension spring is in place? With the spring disconnected or lost, there would be slack in the cable that could cause it to jump out of place

TroyBilt TB30R Blade Engagement Lever (Handle)

Well most common riding mowers the deck engagement lever is attached to a cable that is attached to the idler pulleys bracket on the deck. There is also a spring that attaches to the idler pulley bracket on one end and the deck on the other that keeps the deck engaged until you release it. Look...

    Bench Grinder Wheel Replacement

I went by Harbor Freight yesterday and looked at the Bauer 4 1/2" Grinder for $10.00. First thing I tried a 4 1/2" disk on it but I couldn't because the guard seemed to small to get in position to screw the disk on. I showed this to the HF salesman and he tried too but couldn't. We tried a 4"...

Murry self propelled push Mower with vacuum out oil Change?

At first I thought it was a manufacturing mistake and they had just missed it. Like they say "If all fails, read the manual" and it was right there "Use a Vacuum pump". Kinda like my Husqvarna Riding mower has the side plastic panels blocking access to the oil drain plug and the oil filter...

    Bench Grinder Wheel Replacement

I have been sharpening my lawn mower blades on an old bench grinder I inherited from my Father in Law for about the last 30 years. I put a new grinder wheel on it when I first got it but now I need a new grinder wheel. The old markings are wore off so I can't read the details type and size...

Murry self propelled push Mower with vacuum out oil Change?

Well I have to admit, draining the oil when the plug was on the bottom was kind of awkward being you had to elevate or tilt the deck to get a drain pan under it. I've been using my riding mower and just a weed eater for last 30 years, and when I bought this push mower, I delayed changing the oil...

Murry self propelled push Mower with vacuum out oil Change?

Is this something new not having an oil drain plug and requiring you to use a vacuum pump to vacuum out the oil from the oil input plug? I like to drove myself nuts figuring how to drain the oil out and finally looked at the manual and you have to vacuum it out. Is this wide spread in mowers now?

    Mower bogs down

This is from another angle, but in the spring the grass is tender and more easy to cut that allows you to cut faster and at lower RPM's. After cutting grass through the spring and into the latter part of the summer the grass get tougher and requires you to crank up the RPM's and even slow down...

    Love Greenworks mower

Har! I remember back in the 50's the electric mowers had to have a long extension cord. I never mowed with one but it looked mighty troublesome. They have come a long way since then. Glad you like your mower. May it give you very much trouble free service!

    Used Deck Needed

Well usually when the deck is gone it's just not feasible to replace with new. A good welder can do a lot for an old deck if it isn't too far gone. It's really hard to find a good used deck because you would need to find a repairman that has a lot of junked mowers sitting around. Then you would...

    What's ya'll Opinion of "Berryman B-12 CHEMTOOL"?

Yelp, I've found that if an engine is running rough because of a partially blocked carb, a little of this stuff mixed in with the gas running a while, the engine in a lot of cases will level right out and run smooth. If the engine won't even crank, then the thing to do is clean the carb by hand...
