Kubota z723KH safety switch or electrical issue

Good advice regarding testing switches in place. I've had switches that weren't getting depressed enough. Even switch mounting brackets can bend over time causing it to not depress the plunger sufficiently.

Kubota z723KH safety switch or electrical issue

Gremlins are very sneaky and cannot usually be seen, even by those who are very familiar with their habits. These safety interlock systems can be infuriating and difficult to diagnose. I've looked at several used machines with them defeated. No, I didn't buy them. Good luck!

Which Honda 21 Model is this?

I think I'm just going to let it go. I've already got 3 21 inch mowers and rarely use them. I was doing one very small yard with one last year because a guy living there was very sick and had an erratic sleep schedule. So it was just to be as quiet as possible. About the only other time I use...

Which Honda 21 Model is this?

Thanks. I'm guessing it sat or has an auto choke issue. A woman is selling it and looks like they're moving based on the other stuff she's selling. I'm thinking it's gotta be worth $50 as long as the motor isn't seized. I have 2 other honda 21s, one the Master's series hydro and the other a...

Which Honda 21 Model is this?

Hi. This is for sale locally for $50. Not running but looks to be in pretty good shape. Can anybody tell me what model this unit is. HRR 216?

    Quote advice

I don't know of another way for you to know that you're getting a fair deal other than getting competitive bids. I wouldn't base your decision soley on price - being comfortable with a contractor is very important. But It's pretty standard to get 3 bids for a project in the USA , maybe that's...

    toro 2 cycle snowblower ccr2000?

Those are nice little snowblowers. They have somewhat of a cult following. I have a CCR 1000, a 2450 which is very similar to yours, and a little 16 inch powerlite. Kudos to Toro for keeping parts available for them.

John Deere vs Bobcat Zero Turn

It's the Bob-Cat QuickCat 4000 in Bobcat colors. I'm not a big fan of the Duradeck on them. I have that deck on my Bob-Cat FastCat Pro. The QuickCat/ZS4000 is basically the same machine as my FastCat Pro but is a stand-on format instead of sit-down. Mine leaves a lot of stringers in my cool...

John Deere vs Bobcat Zero Turn

The Bobcat ZS4000 is actually a Bob-Cat QuickCat 4000 in Bobcat colors. Bobcat bought Bob-Cat. You'll likely find more info available on the Bob-Cat mowers. Good machines with an excellent warranty. There are a lot of them in my area due to an excellent dealer.

    Deck washout and oil drain

I don't have the answers to your questions but I'm not a fan of the deck washout ports and personally wouldn't use one. It's just not a good idea to deliberately get your deck and spindles soaking wet IMO. If you do use it you need to follow the instructions thoroughly and run the machine with...

    Pole saw PPT2620H vs. PPT2620

I have the PPT280 which I believe was replaced by the PPT2620. The only difference that I see is that the 2620 is a foot shorter. Mine has the loop handle, and I like it, but at times I have to consciously contact the the throttle lock with the palm of my hand because depending on what I'm doing...

    Laptop battery question.

Does it say it's charging? I'm with ILENGINE thinking it may be a charger problem. It's a common issue for the solder connections on the charging port to break on laptops due to using on your lap while charging and stressing the charger port connections, tripping on the cord etc. Unfortunately...

battery and the seat safety feature

Oh really? Care to explain what the problem with that is? I thought 12 volts was 12 volts. I recently recommended that someone who I suspected had a bad mower battery jump from their vehicle battery directly to their mower battery cables using jumper cables, eliminating their mower battery...

Can I Mow at Less than Full Throttle?

I run my machine at about half throttle when training people to operate a ZTR for the first time for the first few minutes only, then it's full throttle with the blades off, working up to to engaging the blades once they can run it somewhat confidently. Edit - I also tell them to make off...

Lawn mower misfiring/sputtering/deck jumping? ONLY when I engage the blades.

Fingers crossed. It was the PTO disengaging along with sputtering that made me think that. Good detailed descriptions of the issue help a lot. Not something we often get here.

Have you checked/cleaned/tightened your battery terminals. It's acting like a low voltage condition in my opinion.

    New Stihl Equipment

I don't disagree. I can justify buying a $600 saw because I'm a landscaper and I have a 34 acres wooded property. It's a tax write-off too. The OP bought quality equipment that should serve him well for many years.

    New Stihl Equipment

After using large backpack blowers, the small ones seem incredibly weak and slow to me. I thought my Husqvarna 580 was awesome until I got my Echo 8010. But for a homeowner the smaller ones will do, I guess, lol. I typically recommend either the Echo 580 or the Husqvarna 150/350 which are...

please advice on bagger type blade

Simple answer is that you need a high lift blade. If there are wings that attach to your blade that will provide additional air to help push your clippings/leaves through the chute and into the bag. You may experience significant blowout of material from the front of the deck.

    DIY metal object detecting lawnmower

At 3 or 4 mph walking speed I don't see how it would do any good. Besides, if you're mowing at 3 inches you're probably going to clear a small tool like that anyway. Yeah, you'd need an array of sensors covering the whole width of the mower. And what happens when you're mowing a property that...

Honda HRR216 poor bagging when lowered

Happy to see that Honda took the time to try to address your issues. I'm sticking with the "velcro effect" after viewing your videos again. Think of it this way - your turf is the hook part and the cut grass is the fuzzy part. Note how you actually have to work at combing the grass out with...

  33. D

Honda HRR216 poor bagging when lowered

Dropping your mowing height increases the amount of clippings exponentially. The further down you go the higher the turf density. A half inch can make a big difference.

Honda HRR216 poor bagging when lowered

It looks to me like you do have weird grass and it's holding onto the clippings via the "velcro effect." But what has me puzzled is the length of your clippings. You're running the dual blade mulching system, right? I have an older Master's Series HR215 with the dual blade setup and my clippings...

Advice for Starting New Lawn in West-Central West Virginia

You can throw all the time, money, grass seed and fertilizer at your lawn that you want, but if you have crappy soil you'll never win the battle. I suggest that you address the underlying issues by amending your soil or adding quality topsoil.

Mowing Direction CCW or CW mulch-bag?

Clippings are always thrown to the right side. When mulching you're greatly limited by how much grass the deck can process. Some mulched grass escapes from under the deck and is thrown to the right. Going counter-clockwise you won't run it over again and overload the deck and it should be cut up...

Lol. Maybe that's why I'm still at this "temporary" landscaping gig that I started in 2002. Exmark is a good company too. I was mowing one of my accounts and when I engaged the deck (manual clutch) on my Exmark Turf Tracer HP the mower stalled. zero turn mower tearing up yard

Yes, you need to reverse the inside wheel as soon as it "stalls" rather than pivoting on it. Or on soft and/or delicate turf do a 3 point turn.
  45. D

zero turn mower tearing up yard

Check your tire pressures and set them to manufacturer specs, usually in the 8 to 12 psi range. It's not exactly difficult. Not tearing/scuffing turf with a zero-turn mower is all about technique. You need to avoid spinning around on the inside tire with it stationary.

Honda push mower bogs down when I engage blades

Yeah, it's normal for a mower to big momentarily when the blade(s) are engaged. If you have the Quadra Cut mulching system on your mower the bogging can be pretty significant.

What's the most efficient way of mowing lawns?

I'm not sure I understand the question or what a "little lawnmower" is, but here goes. I always cut in around the edges first in a clockwise direction, discharging inwards. If they're nearby I'll also cut in around obstacles. I usually do 2 laps. This keeps from throwing clippings in border...

No, I'm not a member of Consumer Reports, but have you checked your tire pressures? Mowers are usually shipped with the tires at maximum pressure and often sent out the door that way as well. If your tires are at maximum pressure and not the pressure recommended by the manufacturer you will have...
