No need if it's above freezing. It's to prevent carburetor icing. It only takes 2 minutes to switch modes though.

Simple answer is that you need a high lift blade. If there are wings that attach to your blade that will provide additional air to help push your clippings/leaves through the chute and into the bag. You may experience significant blowout of material from the front of the deck.

Dropping your mowing height increases the amount of clippings exponentially. The further down you go the higher the turf density. A half inch can make a big difference.

Clippings are always thrown to the right side. When mulching you're greatly limited by how much grass the deck can process. Some mulched grass escapes from under the deck and is thrown to the right. Yes, you need to reverse the inside wheel as soon as it "stalls" rather than pivoting on it. Or on soft and/or delicate turf do a 3 point turn.

Check your tire pressures and set them to manufacturer specs, usually in the 8 to 12 psi range. It's not exactly difficult. Not tearing/scuffing turf with a zero-turn mower is all about technique. You need to avoid spinning around on the inside tire with it stationary.

Yeah, it's normal for a mower to big momentarily when the blade(s) are engaged. If you have the Quadra Cut mulching system on your mower the bogging can be pretty significant.
