Disconect the stop wire at the engine and then check iff you have a spark. Iff you then have a spark one off the safety switches probably isnt working.

Put all the levers and adjusters in the position where you notice the biggest difference while driving. Then check at the transmissions if the travel of the levers is the same on both sides.

After reading your post again: did you measure compression? Is it possible that the engine is having some serieus wear? (Hard to crank and shutting down when warm) Is there any smoke when running?

I would check iff the speed lever is adjusting both levers at the gearbox the same amount. Maybe 1 is sticking and not adjusting propperly? Is there a lot of backlash in the levers? this could also be the problem.

Witch clutch do you mean exactly? The clutch for driving or the clutch for the mower deck? Is the mowerdeck engaged with a electric switch?

Are you using proper fresh feul? Check the flywheel key, with these models they break sometimes. Check the compression engine might be worn out?
