My unit is in good shape blade wise and the deck being level. I run the engine wide open when mowing. What pointed me to a possible spindle problem is the fact that just the right side seems to not being cut well.

Thanks for the reply, my deck was very clean underneath and the blades look real good(they were new this year). Last time I replaced the spindles, they were complete assemblies with the jackshafts installed. Do the jackshafts simply pull out of the housings for inspection/cleaning?

Hi, I've noticed the cut quality of the right side of my 42" mower deck has declined recently. I raised the mower on the lift and neither blade spins super smooth with the right blade being the worst. I put replacement jackshafts and housings on it about 7 yrs ago. Might be time to do it again...

I've got a CC XT1 GT50 and my NOCO boost box will hook up with the seat down. My battery is dated NOV 19, so 3 1/2 yrs old and still tests like new. It's the OE factory battery. I usually charge it once or twice during the winter down time. Its a 230cca battery on a Kohler 25hp engine.

With 4 auto/truck batteries, 2 lawn tractors and a motorcycle in the family I invested in a Foxwell BT-100 battery tester. It will show state of charge and perform a cca test and tell you when its time to replace an old or suspect battery. Well worth the $30 or so.

I'm changing out the starter, what is the torque spec for its mounting bolts? Edit: I found the service manual online for the 7000 series Kohler, its 211 in. lbs. for starter mounting "screws" if anyone else wants to know.

I mow the Bermuda every 4-5 days during the growing season, always mulch. Mow in late afternoon/early evening when grass is completely dry.

That's exactly what the site says about the 9 tooth, more torque. I used the mower yesterday, it started fine. I'm shooting video though every time I crank it.

This unit sat so long at the store, I tested the battery when I first got it home and it only showed a little over 9v. I put my battery tender on it overnight and it was 12.91v the next morning and the battery seems strong. Connections are clean and tight. What is an acceptable starting volt drop?
