    Deck Belt Vibrating

Good call on the mount bolts. One more thing to check, grab the clutch pulley with the belt off and try rockin it up/down and side to side. If theres play thats not belt tension, the bearing inside the PTO clutch is probably shot. Had a similar scare on my X350 lol.

Last few mows of the season, do I raise the deck or drop it?

Well glad we cleared that up lol. Think Im just gonna ask the grass what it wants at this point.

Last few mows of the season, do I raise the deck or drop it?

Hey guys, Brian again with another dumb question probably. So the mornings are gettin cool up here and I know the growin season is windin down. Was talkin to my neighbor over the fence and he goes yea you gotta drop your deck for the last cut of the year, short grass wont mat down under snow...

    Kohler Engine Life

Run the compression test first, if its still in spec that CH740 got plenty life left. 190 bucks for seals is a no brainer vs 3k for a repower.

    Consider buying a leaf blower

Appreciate all the input! Leanin gas backpack around the 400 mark now. Any specific models worth handlin in person before I pull the trigger?

    Consider buying a leaf blower

Ive been down the review hole and man theres a lot of noise in this space. Every video is sponsored, every guy swears his brand is the only one worth buyin. Heres where Im at. 1.5 acres, 6 maples plus a couple oaks along the property line. I dont need commercial grade, but I also dont wanna buy...

RC Mower: Is It Worth Buying?

Honestly for a homeowner rig I think RC mowers are still overkill unless you got steep slopes you cant safely ride. How big is your yard? Im on 1.5 flat acres with my X350 and cant imagine giving up the seat time lol. Where they shine is hillsides pros dont wanna risk.

    Kubota ZD 1211

That’s frustrating. Does it drop right away when you hit a bump, or only after mowing for a while? I’d probably start by looking at the height lever and the pin or notch that holds it in place.

Frustrated with a Cub LT 1018 No Start problem

Solid troubleshooting so far. Since it won't fire even on starting fluid, I'd shift focus to spark. Pull a plug, ground it against the block, and crank it. You want a strong blue spark, not a weak orange one. One thing worth double checking given the sheared timing key. Even after replacing it...

Do I actually need a blade balance?

Man, didnt expect 80 replies lol. Thanks everyone so much. Ended up grabbin the magnetic balancer and gave it a shot this weekend. While I was at it I also checked my tire pressure since a few of you mentioned it. Cut looked way more even after so honestly no clue which one did the trick, but...

Do I actually need a blade balance?

Thanks for all the input; definitely learned a ton. Gonna pull the trigger on the magnetic wall mount balancer since its cheap enough to justify. Figure worst case I got a new garage toy, best case my spindles last longer. Thanks again!

Haha, you got me! That's a new concept for me. Then how can I be great at dynamic balancing?

Do I actually need a blade balance?

Alright so a couple weeks in with the X350 and Im already down the rabbit hole of blade care lol. Cut looked a little uneven last mow and figured its time to pull em, sharpen, put em back. Watched a bunch of vids and now Im more confused than when I started. Half the guys say just stick a...

First mower thats mine, where do I even start?

Thanks! It actually came with the manual, I skimmed it but honestly reads like a generic checklist. Gonna sit down and give it a proper read this week. Was more hopin to hear some of the real world tips you guys picked up over the years. It's a 2018 with about 200 hrs on it if that helps...

First mower thats mine, where do I even start?

Well after 2 years of renting whatever the shop had sittin out front, I finally pulled the trigger on a used X350 last weekend. Big thanks to everyone that chimed in on my earlier threads. You guys def helped me stop second guessing everything. Heres the thing though. Every mower Ive ever ran...

Thanks guys, goin with the X350. Been goin back and forth on this too long lol.

Will the X350's K46 transmission hold up

Pretty much decided on buying this X350, but still got this one doubt. How’s the K46 transaxle hold up on 1.5 acres? Yard is mostly flat but got a small slope and wanna pull a light cart. Should I worry about longevity or look for an X380 with the K58?

    X350 for 1.5 acres?

Thanks for the input! Sounds like the Gravely is treating you right. I'll keep an eye out for the used one and definitely consider both.

    X350 for 1.5 acres?

Been renting a 42" Cub Cadet from, does the job but at $75 a pop. I thought about a zero turn too, what'd you end up going with? Worth the jump in price for 1.5 acres or overkill?

    725d electrical issue

Sounds like a ground problem, not a parts issue. When gauges, lights, and key-off all act up together, that's probably bad ground. Try to clean your battery ground, dash ground, and engine-to-frame strap. Check harness plugs for green corrosion too. Hope it works.

I have! Thanks, will maintain it carefully if I buy one!

    X350 for 1.5 acres?

Been renting a mower the last couple years, but I'm starting to think it makes more sense to just buy one. About 1.5 acres, mostly flat, with a few trees and things to mow around. I've been looking at used John Deere riders and came across an X350 that seems reasonably priced. For those of you...

    Blade rubbing

The 10-15 second interval is odd, if it was a bent spindle or blade, you'd hear it every revolution. Could it be the deck is shifting around and only making contact under certain conditions? Worth checking.

    Dipstick Question

I think the Smart Stow setup is probably the bigger issue here than the O-ring itself. On a regular mower that dipstick only sees a little oil splash, but when it's stored upright you've got oil sitting against that angled tube all the time. Even a good O-ring may let a little seep through under...

    briggs fuel pump issue

It's worth doing a thorough check of the impulse line as Andrew suggests. If that line has even a hairline crack or is partially blocked, the diaphragm never gets the pressure pulse it needs to operate. A damaged impulse port on the engine block could also be causing repeated pump failures...

How will the new 15% ethanol gasoline affect our Craftsman mowers and lawn tractors?

Honestly, E15 is something I'd avoid with older Craftsman equipment if you can help it. Most of these small engines were built for E10 max, and bumping up to 15% ethanol can cause real headaches like carb issues.

    Fuel shut off solenoid part#

Congrats! Who did you buy from? Any links? I'm looking for a fuel shut-off solenoid for my Toro 74591. And I'm looking at this one: https://www.fridayparts.com/fuel-shut-off-solenoid-699728-for-briggs-and-stratton-engine-toro-cub-cadet-tractor. Not sure if it'll work fine.

Engine starts well but mower doesn't stay on, fuel problem ?

Maybe double check the float. If it's set too high or the needle seat is worn out, fuel delivery gets messed up in a weird way that's hard to diagnose just by looking.

    Trouble with my Vanguard Twin

How's the project going? Any updates? Based on what was said here, I think the EFI pump (#593890) is really worth a look. Since you only swapped the lift pump, the main EFI pump could still be the one starving the engine under load. That would explain why it runs fine at first but falls apart...

Starting issues with my MTD tractor

Wow, that's a great source. But is it an original one? for $57.17. Usually bought parts from Napa and Fridayparts. Next time, I would try. Thanks for sharing.

FR 691 Upgrade to electric fuel pump

2022 Kubota T2290 Drive Belt Replacement

Had something similar with my Toro mower. Belt slipping and some cracking on the edge. I know it's time. Looking for a durable drive belt now. Really don't want to go for the cheap Amazon one. Bought a spindle pulley off there but started making noise after maybe three or four cuts. Ended up...

In fact, there are many aftermarket parts to choose from. I usually turned to Napa and Friday Parts. Ever bought a carburetor for my 31A707. Still works well. Good value for that price. Their parts never let me down.

last year's problem needs to be fixed - riding mower will not start - Lowe's T150

Since it spins free with the plug OUT but won't crank with it IN. That tells me the starter is probably fine, it's just hitting too much resistance when it has to fight compression. First thing I'd do is pull that plug and look inside the cylinder. If there's fuel sitting there, it literally...

    Honda GV670 won't continue running

Sounds like that dashpot solenoid is stuck. Pretty common after sitting for a year. Try pulling it off the carb and soaking it in carb. Worked for me! Also, double-check you're getting 12V to it while actually cranking, not just at rest.

Snowblower traction: Chains, studs, or just leave it alone?

Chains are the way to go, man. I had the same problem with my Ariens a couple winters back. Packed ice on the driveway and that thing was just spinning in place like it was trying to dance.

Spark plug gets gas fouled every cold start

Sounds like your carburetor's float needle isn't sealing properly when the engine is off. What happens is gas slowly leaks past it and pools up. Then, when you go to use the choke for a cold start, it's just way too much fuel and it instantly floods the plug. Before you touch any of the...

    Kohler 7000 Extremely Dark Oil

The super black oil is a classic sign. The engine is running rich. The detail that really jumps out at me is the abrupt, violent shutdown. I'd bet your issue is the fuel shut-off solenoid on the bottom of the carburetor. When they start to fail, they can cause all the problems you're seeing...

    Kohler CH22 starving for gas

That is a real head-scratcher. Sounds like you've already done everything but replace the whole mower! Super frustrating. The way it runs for a while and then dies sounds a lot like a classic case of the fuel tank building up a vacuum. I know you said the gas cap vents are clear, but here’s a...

    390 engine electric fuel pump

I think your best bet is to wire the pump to the golf cart's main key switch. There should be a wire on the switch that gets 12V when you turn the key to "on". Just be sure to put an inline fuse on that wire for safety.
