    Hour Meter is Always On

The hour meter battery is not charged by running the engine.

    Not to start an argument.....

So you are bragging StarTron treated gasoline will carry more water into your engine than straight pump gas. How is this beneficial?

    Homemade oil extractor

How do you prime it? The store-bought extractors suck oil out, starting with a hose full of air. Some automobile dip stick tubes are routed to the very bottom of the crankcase pan to facilitate oil extraction. Mercedes-Benz is one I have direct experience with. The large Harbor Freight oil...

    Old gas

You could pour some in a shallow pan and light it. Will smoke a lot. Probably burn with few ashes. Repeat until it is all gone. For fun put a little in a soup can and try to light it. Unless the can is full it won't burn. If the can is full it will extinguish before it goes very far. Most...

Honda's future in the 21 in. Battery Lawn Mowers

She really really did. 6500 miles total loop around the country east coast to west and back, and bunch in between. My sister. A/C, heat, cellphone, everything. Believe it or not those things don't use much compared to the 16-20kW needed to go 70 MPH. On occasion drives 720 mile day to get here...

    Decisions, decisions

I second keeping what you have. The difference between 60" and 48" is 6" on each side, not much. I think for several thousand $ savings you could learn to mow with it. If depth of perception is off then I'm not sure a narrower deck would solve the problem. Could you put florescent tape on the...

    Honda engine replace/rebuild

You would replace an engine due to an oil leak? Unless it is a crack in the block, oil leaks are much easier to fix than rebuild or replace.

Sorry you believe the worst reviews are the only accurate reviews.

Honda's future in the 21 in. Battery Lawn Mowers

Exactly, you only noticed that review because it said something bad. Some do. I know something of UPS's early ventures running a pure electric brown truck in 1980.

600 mile days, didn't loaf around.

Honda's future in the 21 in. Battery Lawn Mowers

I knew of a diesel pickup with 20' RV trailer that couldn't go 120 miles between tanks. Citing the very worst case you can dig out of the trash is a poor basis for a debate. Oooh! Poor Amazon driver only gets 120 miles per charge! So how long is is route, 60 miles? The average USPS carrier's...

Honda's future in the 21 in. Battery Lawn Mowers

What makes you think ev charging times are lengthy and result in reduced travel? I know a retired woman who made a 6500 mile loop of the USA in her Tesla a couple months ago. Said she only stopped to eat, pee or be a tourist, and sometimes charged at the same time. Many 600 mile days of 2...

    Digital Fuel-Hour Meter Stopped Working

Go to Amazon (or where ever) and shop for a mechanical hour meter that will fit your mower. Install it. Can’t help your fuel gauge. If tank is mounted where you could see then a tee off the fuel line to the engine, translucent line to the vent in top of your tank, routed to where you can see...

    Cub Cadet with steering wheel

There are ZTRs with single joystick control. Country Clipper comes to mind, I have one. Joystick or twinstick were no-cost options on most models. Have seen electric ZTRs with joystick but don't remember which. An electric mower would be a very good option for a woman.

    Fuel

You should gladly pay $10/gallon extra for ethanol-free. Plus use every single stabilizing product, "ethanol neutralizer", etc, liberally! Nothing is too good for your little engine! Or, you could just use common sense and only keep fresh 87 AKI E10 from a high volume gas stations on hand a...

Honda's future in the 21 in. Battery Lawn Mowers

Oh, I didn't know my batteries "don't always last past 3 years." So far, all have.' And yes, name brand EGo batteries are not cheap. Aftermarket EGo batteries are of lesser quality, live down to your expectations. But EGo uses 18650 cells for which high quality replacements are available for...

    Digital Fuel-Hour Meter Stopped Working

Not only that but the quality of non-replaceable battery hour meters from China is spotty. They have hundreds of manufacturers of the lithium cells used, buy by cost, and have little quality control. You have nothing to lose by trying to cut your hour meter open to replace the battery. Dozens...

The ONLY Fuel Additive That ACTUALLY Rejuvenates Stale Fuel! This Stuff REALLY Works!

If that stuff was previously only available to refiners and fuel depots to preserve gasoline in transit and storage then presumably it is already in the fuel in my tank so why buy more?

    Kawasaki FJ180V wont start

Long ago I had a 3 year old Kawasaki which wouldn't start. Ran the week before. Spark, spark plug clearn, gas, air filter, compression, everything but no go. For lack of a better solution I started changing parts. Spark plug cheapest so it went first. Started right up. Ran great for 3 more...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Provided the URL with my original comment. Read it for yourself. “Product” is their choice of words. They don’t care what it is used in, only that it is for uncompensated residential use. Commercial warranty is less.

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Yes, “product”. Is a removable battery specifically so it can be used in riding mower, push mower, string trimmer, etc. Doesn’t matter what it is used in.

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Yes, am aware. My 2013 Tesla had 7100 some odd 18650 and my 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range has a bunch of the 2170. For some reason they are deleting the last zero on 2170, 21mm diameter 70mm long vs 18mm diameter and 65mm long. Tesla's LiFePO4 cells are 4680. Doesn't really matter, the cells...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Greenworks box store mowers are bottom tier. Greenworks is playing to be OEM to everyone Much the same as whoever it is who has taken over the box store mower business. Many ”brands” of tools are using Greenworks batteries, that is how you can tell. EGo makes good stuff, albeit in China.

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Hopefully the funds have not been spent. Our Woke DEI Secretary of Transportation burdened the funds with every woke DEI term ever known. Even has a requirement to hire felons. Only 7 or 8 have been built. That was the limit of how much even Government Farmers (those who harvest government...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Well, you have learned everything you “know“ from biased media which tells you what you want to hear. 30 years from an ICE mower is not unheard of, but unusual. So, is the battery still available for your 80’s mower? Of course it is. You haven’t spent 30 seconds on YouTube to see how much EV...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Without experience you assume batteries have to be replaced every 3 years. You assume the cellphone/laptop model applies. Ryobi has a 5 year battery warranty for simply clicking on their website. EGo too on the 10 Ah. Am still using my 2016 EGo 7.5Ah battery, and 2.0 Ah. Many others have not...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Country Clipper used to be about the only zero turn with joystick. They made one for Snapper for a year or two long ago. My Country Clipper dealer said most with no twin stick zero turn experience (no muscle memory) preferred the joystick. Country Clipper made twin stick as well, same price...

Still using my 2016 EGo 7.5 Ah battery. Why do you think you need to buy a new battery every 2 years? EGo batteries have a 3 year 100% replacement warranty. If one registers the 10Ah battery warranty within 90 days the warranty is 5 years.

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

I don’t see that at all. We have a 50% generating capacity surplus at night. Perfect time for EVs to charge. Easy money for the utility. More money 5o expect capacity. Nope didn’t see anything but idiots in Chicago who try to drive an EV like an ICE and only fill up when empty. No one had...

What makes it a mulching mower?

I don't doubt mulching requires more power. The grass blades are cut multiple times, each cut requires power. As for the benefit? Not questionable at all. Is a bit silly to pay to fertilize, then cut and bag clippings to discard. Rather, chop them up, put them back on the ground, keep the...

    Tire Pressure

Yes, actually. Tesla specs 42 PSI and the tire also says max inflation 42 PSI. Same for my Yamaha street bike's rear tire. Front is under the tire's max.

    Spindles oem?

Am not familiar with the exact spindle but would one not prefer a sealed bearing over a shielded bearing? Sealed on the outer side? A shielded bearing leaves an opening for stuff to get in/out.

54" BAD BOY MZ Magnum (zero turn) Blade Replacement OEM Blades - Blades Slipping

Mechanical engineer driving manual transmission since 1975. Try me on the physics. Fact: Idle speed activation of electric PTO shreds belts. Manufacturer says 2/3rd to full throttle when activating. What the manufacturer says is not intuitive but real world experience supports their...

    How much oil

The amount to fill depends on the amount drained. You never get it all out. Fill to full on the dipstick. Use the manufacturer’s spec as a first approximation as to how much you need. Never need more than that.

54" BAD BOY MZ Magnum (zero turn) Blade Replacement OEM Blades - Blades Slipping

My dealer has an assortment of belts hanging on the wall which were shredded by owners starting the blades at idle. As an example of, “don’t do this.” I don’t understand how this “soft start” would not create more problems than it solves?

54" BAD BOY MZ Magnum (zero turn) Blade Replacement OEM Blades - Blades Slipping

Country Clipper says: Only engage the clutch with the throttle approximately 2/3 to full throttle and no load on the deck blades. Allow the blades to come up to speed and move the throttle lever to full throttle prior to cutting grass.

    Best for hills?

I too require a cane. left arm works better than my primary right arm. I can work my caps lock key. If it has ROPS then it is probably over 1000 pounds, which would contribute to “sticky”.

What makes it a mulching mower?

I only mulched with my EGo 21" SP electric mower. Basically you need a blade with high lift on the outer portion, down blowing in the center, so that clippings circulate. Sometimes I bagged so as to have clippings to cover bare ground. Have not been mulching with the ZTR as it blows grass 10'...
