    Digital Fuel-Hour Meter Stopped Working

Not only that but the quality of non-replaceable battery hour meters from China is spotty. They have hundreds of manufacturers of the lithium cells used, buy by cost, and have little quality control. You have nothing to lose by trying to cut your hour meter open to replace the battery. Dozens...

The ONLY Fuel Additive That ACTUALLY Rejuvenates Stale Fuel! This Stuff REALLY Works!

If that stuff was previously only available to refiners and fuel depots to preserve gasoline in transit and storage then presumably it is already in the fuel in my tank so why buy more?

    Kawasaki FJ180V wont start

Long ago I had a 3 year old Kawasaki which wouldn't start. Ran the week before. Spark, spark plug clearn, gas, air filter, compression, everything but no go. For lack of a better solution I started changing parts. Spark plug cheapest so it went first. Started right up. Ran great for 3 more...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Provided the URL with my original comment. Read it for yourself. “Product” is their choice of words. They don’t care what it is used in, only that it is for uncompensated residential use. Commercial warranty is less.

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Yes, “product”. Is a removable battery specifically so it can be used in riding mower, push mower, string trimmer, etc. Doesn’t matter what it is used in.

Been a lot of talk about it here. Very simple search "ryobi ztr battery warranty" "80V Battery: Five years if the product is used for personal, family, or household use, two years for any other purpose such as commercial, rental, or any other income producing purpose"...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Yes, am aware. My 2013 Tesla had 7100 some odd 18650 and my 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range has a bunch of the 2170. For some reason they are deleting the last zero on 2170, 21mm diameter 70mm long vs 18mm diameter and 65mm long. Tesla's LiFePO4 cells are 4680. Doesn't really matter, the cells...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Greenworks box store mowers are bottom tier. Greenworks is playing to be OEM to everyone Much the same as whoever it is who has taken over the box store mower business. Many ”brands” of tools are using Greenworks batteries, that is how you can tell. EGo makes good stuff, albeit in China.

Hopefully the funds have not been spent. Our Woke DEI Secretary of Transportation burdened the funds with every woke DEI term ever known. Even has a requirement to hire felons. Only 7 or 8 have been built. That was the limit of how much even Government Farmers (those who harvest government...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Well, you have learned everything you “know“ from biased media which tells you what you want to hear. 30 years from an ICE mower is not unheard of, but unusual. So, is the battery still available for your 80’s mower? Of course it is. You haven’t spent 30 seconds on YouTube to see how much EV...

    GOODBYE TO ELECTRIC

Without experience you assume batteries have to be replaced every 3 years. You assume the cellphone/laptop model applies. Ryobi has a 5 year battery warranty for simply clicking on their website. EGo too on the 10 Ah. Am still using my 2016 EGo 7.5Ah battery, and 2.0 Ah. Many others have not...

Honda's future in the 21 in. Battery Lawn Mowers

Still using my 2016 EGo 7.5 Ah battery. Why do you think you need to buy a new battery every 2 years? EGo batteries have a 3 year 100% replacement warranty. If one registers the 10Ah battery warranty within 90 days the warranty is 5 years.

I don’t see that at all. We have a 50% generating capacity surplus at night. Perfect time for EVs to charge. Easy money for the utility. More money 5o expect capacity. Nope didn’t see anything but idiots in Chicago who try to drive an EV like an ICE and only fill up when empty. No one had...

What makes it a mulching mower?

I don't doubt mulching requires more power. The grass blades are cut multiple times, each cut requires power. As for the benefit? Not questionable at all. Is a bit silly to pay to fertilize, then cut and bag clippings to discard. Rather, chop them up, put them back on the ground, keep the...

Am not familiar with the exact spindle but would one not prefer a sealed bearing over a shielded bearing? Sealed on the outer side? A shielded bearing leaves an opening for stuff to get in/out.

54" BAD BOY MZ Magnum (zero turn) Blade Replacement OEM Blades - Blades Slipping

Mechanical engineer driving manual transmission since 1975. Try me on the physics. Fact: Idle speed activation of electric PTO shreds belts. Manufacturer says 2/3rd to full throttle when activating. What the manufacturer says is not intuitive but real world experience supports their...

    How much oil

The amount to fill depends on the amount drained. You never get it all out. Fill to full on the dipstick. Use the manufacturer’s spec as a first approximation as to how much you need. Never need more than that.

54" BAD BOY MZ Magnum (zero turn) Blade Replacement OEM Blades - Blades Slipping

My dealer has an assortment of belts hanging on the wall which were shredded by owners starting the blades at idle. As an example of, “don’t do this.” I don’t understand how this “soft start” would not create more problems than it solves?

54" BAD BOY MZ Magnum (zero turn) Blade Replacement OEM Blades - Blades Slipping

Country Clipper says: Only engage the clutch with the throttle approximately 2/3 to full throttle and no load on the deck blades. Allow the blades to come up to speed and move the throttle lever to full throttle prior to cutting grass.

I too require a cane. left arm works better than my primary right arm. I can work my caps lock key. What makes it a mulching mower?

I only mulched with my EGo 21" SP electric mower. Basically you need a blade with high lift on the outer portion, down blowing in the center, so that clippings circulate. Sometimes I bagged so as to have clippings to cover bare ground. Have not been mulching with the ZTR as it blows grass 10'...

    Best for hills?

Zero turns use castor wheels on the front. Unsteered. These can be problematic on hillsides no matter twin stick, joystick, or steering wheel. A lawn tractor with steering wheel directly connected to front wheels is probably best. I’m not familiar with the lawn tractor market these days but...

Make or break features on a zero-turn?

To the above I would add: 1) Quality of spindles. Might fixate on fabricated decks but spindles are common replacement items. Some box store brands use blades with oddball mounting limiting selection to OE only.

How much is a new engine? It doesn’t really matter. What matters is how much service you get for what you pay. Consider cost of gasoline, cost of getting gasoline, motor oil, and replacement engine. Is pretty hard to accurate estimate for comparison which suggests the results are close. I...

    Best oil? High zinc?

"Thermal conductivity" is not the same thing as "carrying more heat". In general the more one carries in suspension in a fluid the lower the freezing point. That doesn't help motor oil. I seriously doubt the specific heat (the property of "carrying" heat) is significantly changed from 700 to...

    Best oil? High zinc?

I am saying very few automobiles have roller lifters. My 2018 F-150 2.7 Ecoboost (twin turbo) does not. My 2016 9000 RPM Yamaha FJR1300 does not. My 2007 Prius did not. The valve springs are much stiffer than any power equipment engine I have seen. And while the Yamaha does over 4000 RPM quite...
