Old GTS5 rwd wheels won't turn, self propelled working though

My GF recently asked a 22 year old college student working part time to mail a check to someone. The girl asked what a check was. She had never written one, always banked on her phone app. Then she asked how you address an envelope, and where the stamp was supposed to go. She had never...

    Replacing broken Craftsman sockets

Same here. I took an automechanics class in Vo-Tech my senior year in 1972. A local auto parts place put together a special toolbox package for students with basic hand tools in a nice metal toolbox. It was made by Blackhawk. It cost $110 for students. Full set of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2"...

    Corroded ring terminal, battery cable

I used to work for a telephone company many years ago. We had a product called No-Oxide, a grease that shipped with the central office battery packages to be applied to battery terminals to prevent corrosion. I have had a couple small jars of that grease on hand since 1980 that I have used on...

Gas Caps do seal out any condensation from entering the gas tank, despite the arguments here saying they do not

In 57 years of using every conceivable kind of lawn equipment, I have NEVER had a problem with water in a gas tank. NEVER. And the only thing I've ever done is take the OEM cap off, fill the tank, and put the OEM cap back on. No plastic wrap, no rubber bands, only using the OEM caps. I do...

What to do for a logo?

If I've learned anything in my 69 years, it's to listen to the old farts. They've been there and know what they are talking about. Listen to them.

    Pulley Problem

Yep! That pulley is most definitely NON-repairable. I just hope the new one doesn't do the same thing to you. There was no quality in that one to control in the first place. Kind of an odd failure mode.

    Kohler KT745

I've never seen a safety switch cause just one cylinder to misfire or not fire at all.

    Pulley Problem

I could have put a new pulley on and mowed half my yard in the time it's taken to read through this thread. Why did you replace the original pulley to begin with?

Will spread grass blades over grass helps lawn or just bagging them is good?

Aren't you just blowing all your clippings to the outside of your lawn instead of equally distributing them over the lawn? Or am I misunderstanding your method? It sounds like you are mowing and re-mowing the cuttings multiple times as you move the cuttings to the outside of the lawn. I...

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

I use Rotella-T 15w40 in everything I own, car, truck, tractors, everything with a motor, EXCEPT my 2006 Harley motorcycle. I use HD synthetic in it because I love keeping my Harley all original, down to the oil. Rotella-T currently sells for $79 for a 5-gallon container at Walmart. That's...

Wow! Any way you could identify that engine so we could avoid buying it?

    Stihl love/hate MS251C

You've probably already checked it, but I've seen a clogged air intake filter cause this same problem on Stihl FS series string trimmers and leaf blowers.
