Hello again, while running my jd Lt166 48c 16 hp it all the sudden started making a popping sound , alot like a back fire but different. Its running fine otherwise any ideas what to look at would be appreciated.

is it advisable to run engine with valve cover off so I can possibly see whats going on. [Fuel spraying out of air intake]
