Somebody may have to correct me on this but Perhaps your spark is cutting out at higher rpms. Maybe your timing is wrong. Or misfiring.

Yes, I agree with rivets, maybe your float got stuck ( even though you just cleaned it ), and gas could have leaked out of the carb into the motor. Another way to check is to feel the oil and if it is not as thick as oil then it has gas in it, or of course smell it like rivets stated.

Is the oil level high?

Do you have the original belt? If so, try to size them up and see if they are the same length. And if you can please post the model numbers.

stick a 5.7 350 on it. definitely the best decision financially. and its much easier to install than the honda. comes with the ability to wake the neighbors up when you cut in the morning, oh...and dont worry about the dew on the grass it will just turn your wet grass into a smoothie.

have you considered this? it seems like it could be in anybodys budget range, it is only a small step up from what you have. and its only a slight increase of power with its 55hp turbo diesel. suitible for anyhomeowners yard, and can fit in the tightest of spaces. and it only weighs 5000lbs...

i've bought only 2 carbs from amazon, but i've bought many small engine parts from amazon. the two carbs a i bought, one was for a weedeater, but it came in a kit, it consisted of: a carb, 2 air filters, 3 feet of main fuel line, and 3 feet of the small fuel line, 4 primer bulbs, 2 spark...

there might also be a hole in the primer, but if it runs fine it might not be fuel lines, but if you do get a carb DO NOT get one off amazon, those things are crap

if you do it right you can make a lot of profit off this stuff :)

there's nothing that could usually cause this issue except user error. Is it the tires that are tearing up the yard?

sounds like the cylinder with the black plug is running rich or some oil got in there, try pulling out the plug, clean it, and turn the motor over without plugs in there. insert the plugs back in and try to start it.

you got oil in the motor? besides that sounds like it might be coming from the exhaust. and i dont know if its the camera, but looks like your motor is moving around alot!

id honestly recommend the troy bilt, but it is your choice, the honda mower is really good at 1 thing: mulching ( and side discharge ) but the troy built is like a jack of all trades, its okay at mulching side discharge and bagging. and it comes with motor oil. But like i said, its your choice...

which ever mower you get, they will both last for ever, you treat it right and it will treat you right. make sure you always check the oil, and keep it topped off, on those hondas you cant drain the oil, unless you flip it over of course :p And if you know your not gonna use it for a couple...

after looking at the specification chart on both of them, it looks like the honda mower is made with thicker steel it also says the honda mower is recommended for up to 1/2 an acre, as for the troy bilt is only recommended for 1/4 an acre, it says the honda is recommended for flat or...
