Sears is really a distributor and not a manufacturer. Maybe someone can lead you to the original maker's same model. Their catalog may suggest a longer belt.

Yes, to all the above. Plus worn belts are hardened. With lower winter temps and short use, the belts don't have time to heat up and get "sticky". Those belts may (seem to) work fine next July.

I'd have to say, you are correct about ZTMs on hilly yards. They will definitely slide well before a lawn tractor if you need to ride across the slope. And it's very scary when it happens. The lighter ZTMs are really more likely to slide than the big one. Weight is the deciding factor.

This is true. Gravity forces the fuel "down hill" and it ends up in the cylinder and then the sump... where it dilutes the engine oil. If you have a fuel ON/OFF valve, then replace it.

I'm 70-1/2 and use a 44" zero turn Exmark. You'll get used to the lap bars if you use it. I actually prefer the ZT for getting closer around trees and poles.

Old gas will put a varnish coating on parts of the carb interior due to the ethanol. Non-ethanol is a fix too late. Obviously, this "coating" includes the interior of the jets, which get smaller due to the varnish. The smaller jetting orifii then lean out the engine. The best thing is simply...
