Take the old battery with you to the parts store or Tractor supply and compare. Or measure the height,length, and width of the battery and write it down. and compare it to a new batt. True and if you dont take battery when purchasing a new one you will be charged a core charge $10 here

That is a good choice I just change one out. there will be some wiring changes at the engine connector needed and the muffler 0ff the Kohler will not work to exhaust out the front . The muffler needs to come out the front so as not to melt the hood if it is a plastic hood

did you line up the timing marks on crank and cam

i changed the filters on a ZD321 has 2 filters like the picture above on right hand side behind the battery

I have loosened the mounting bolt of the idler pulley and it gives some wiggle room to slip the belt on

I bought a Toro ZTR commercial in 2007 for 6100 dollars. I cut 3 acres of grass and have had no issues not even a belt replacement. I think it will last me many more years. Just saying

if its adjustable check the air gap

if it has adjustment nuts like the picture

if the idler pulley is flat it applies tension on back side of the belt if V- pulley on inside of belt.

this machine has no start problem and my cousin has been working on it so should be challenge to get it going. I will post progress as soon as he get it to me. I thought it would be good to have schematic ready for trouble shooting when i get started on it. Thanks again folks.

the idler pulley puts tension on the back side of the drive belt are you belts designed for back side tension. Oem belt?
