HERE'S a few places to get a belt, .. the OEM belt @ (repairclinic.com ) is the best to use, but if you're pinchin pennies, the others will also work as well, IF it was the mower DRIVE belt, you should go with an OEM belt, your call good luck & keep us posted ! .... click to enlarge, clik...

Once you get the old "axle--caps" off you should find a large flat washer that fits into a groove in the back of the axle-cap which secures it, a REAL PITA to remove them, I took a grinder to the washers and now they pop right right off with a small hook-type tool ... see enclosed pics .. ...

I bought this a few months back, it's the wifeys toy now, in my HIGHLY regarded, undoubted, indisputable, extremely reliable, and noteworthy opinion, ... ( :laughing:..:laughing: ) they are a PITA to work on, it's hard to access the engine on mine, unless you remove all, kinds of components...

The BOTTOM valve in this pic is your EXHAUST valve.....

I see the one link to Jacks doesn't work ..lets try this, AND NO it does NOT include a starter, I would assume it would use your present starter, which if you have an issue with,.. YOU either rebuild it, or replace it, with a rebuilt, or new one !!

That "pretty" deck was my own personal equipment, and like you say,... I could not get the money out of a rebuild like that for someone else, "Labor of Love" it's called !!

Total tear-down, some light grinding, some J-B Weld, some sanding and painting and reassembly, ... good for another 10 years, BECAUSE I dont let any water get on it and I don't mow DAMP/WET grass, RUST NEVER SLEEPS !! only wish the guy I bought it from took as good care of the mower as he did of...

Don't sweat breaking off those self-tappers in the spindle housings, almost EVERY-one I've removed has at least one broken off, you can drill em out but you can buy an entire NEW spindle ready to bolt-on damn cheap that's what I do from now on, I just drill out the new housing holes AND the deck...

OK a little at a time..... in the pic of old harness ... ..... those appear to be the carb solenoid wires and they hook-up like in this pic....... then..the next wire down, APPEARS to be a slip on spade type connector w/black wire, (1) it should probably go to the coil ( the kill wire ) THIS...

Going back n forth looking at these pics and diagrams driving me crazy, looking at the harness on the cardboard really drove me crazy with that shadow I thought was a wire !! ( LOL ) No matter what,.. there will be splicing to do, did you get any other wire harness "adapters with the new engine...

NO ....... I'm sure you probably have the AUTO-CHOKE model where you push the throttle lever full FORWARD ... the choke position, (which may be out of adjustment) -- (as explained in a recent post) pulling back, to FULL throttle, then the idle position, A MANUAL is where you would drill a hole...

Dave, I haven't researched YOUR engine thus far, but .... if you don't have a manual choke set-up on the engine I would surely put one on it, its not really expensive, also, if you keep motoring that starter for such long periods without a cool-down period, you'll wind up needing a new starter...
