Adjust play in brake linkage rod

I felt your pain about those neck jerking, wheel standing jack rabbit starts with several of the Lawn tractors models as the brake/clutch pedal is let off. Really aggravating and just the nature of the beast on some. What I've noticed it's USUALLY not the brake releasing quickly but is the...

    422707-121401 sump gasket

Just to clarify when I remove springs from governor arm the engine should go to idle?? YES Just to clairfy. If it will not go to idle (or slower RPM's) with the governor spring removed or the governor disabled, this throttle control problem lower rpm needs to be repaired BEFORE addressing the...

This is the stuff that makes small shops look bad

I've seen that same thing and more stuff just as bad on a really nice onan engine. (as one example of several) The wrong plugs had been run so long that I had to chase the threads for the longer reach plug threads due to carbon build-up. Engine was on a really nice looking Case 448 that I...

Scag Wildcat tries to start when key switch is in the run position?

Are you indicating it's now fixed??? Reason I ask is what you mention that you found with the fuel solenoid and PTO wiring does not appear logically to cause a starter solenoid to energize in run position of the correct ignition switch. Have to agree that would be rare failure and fix.

    Honda GCV 160 smokes

That Honda engine is normally a good long term engine with just little bit of TLC, especially changing the oil and replacing the oil with the proper type. If the engine is smoking at normal oil levels it's probably worn out due to neglect due to not changing the oil. Why because on some of the...

Adjust play in brake linkage rod

???? I would probably search for a download a owners manual and parts list and review if the brake does not operate. Owners manuals usually have pictures and adjustment procedures. (and brakes are usually wimpy operating on LT Models)Brakes just kinda slow down the LT machine when on flat...

    Serging Micki carburetor

Where are you going to find a NLA Walbro LMT carb? Just a heads up notice: The part numbers you see listed will not be a genuine Walbro, it's a NIKKI replacement. You can see such by looking at the pictures of the carb. The Amazon prime Micki carbs (Micki Mouse) are China clones and free...

    Briggs Intake Manifold Gasket

I take little bit of extra care in this area especially if the engine has a surging and hunting issue. (and a dreaded Nikki carb) I use the gasket over the o-rings, but I've also used the gasket W/O the o-rings. If I have no new flat gaskets available I make the manifold gaskets myself. I trust...

    Westwood no charge

    Won't Spin Past Compression Stroke

The compression release is on the intake valve. It dumps some compression when the piston is just before TDC if the intake valve lash is .003-.005 with the piston 1/4 inch past TDC. .003 slowly turn the engine on the compression stroke and just before TDC you should see the intake valve stem...

    Spindle Bearings

Auto Doc's is right on about the center spacer so the tapered bearings will not have too much pre-load when all it tight. Nikki 799245 carb to a Walbro

LMT's are NLA. The Briggs part number will lead you to believe it's a Walbro but it's will be a Nikki or Ruxing. If you want a LMT you might look on ebay for a used one.

Adjustment of a new B&S OEM 799728 by Nikki on my Snapper RER 10HP B&S L-Head?

Adjustment of a new B&S OEM 799728 by Nikki on my Snapper RER 10HP B&S L-Head?

Briggs is deceitful/non trurthful with their part numbers for carbs. The desirable Walbro LMT carb is NLA as a new replacement. Also when you see a...

New to me 13ag601h729 in good condition but neglected.

Look at page 30 of the owners manual. Also make sure it's routed correctly per the diagram...

    Craftsman GT6000 drive belt replacement
