    I think I have a Cracked Head

It is about as simple as fixes get. The fuel in the oil is coming from the carburetor overflowing into the intake manifold. If you replaced the OEM carburetor with an eBay carb, your assumption that the needle valve and seat in the new carb will fix the problem may not be good. OEM...

    I think I have a Cracked Head

Spinning the engine does not push all of the 'fluid' out of the engine. There is probably nothing wrong with your block and head. The problem is probably with the needle valve and/or seat in your carburetor. Best to replace with OEM parts in your OEM carburetor. In old days, there was a fuel...

    Stens oil

I had the same thing happen with a C50 Chevy truck, 350 V8. When I bought it, the seller told me to use Conoco oil or it would use oil. I paid no attention to him; oil is oil. Next oil change, I switched to Quaker State because I had a bunch of it on hand. Just as he said, the oil...

Kubota 326Z Diesel engine going out

I realize that he was told how to do it, but there is no evidence that he ever did follow those directions correctly. I see posts on page 2 in which he says it was running, but he saw on here that there is a second filter so he replaced it and it wouldn't start, so he cracked two lines (and by...

Kubota 326Z Diesel engine going out

Don't pull a line completely off an injector. CRACK open the line at one injector (not the injection pump) slightly, maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. Keep the two wrenches on or a close to the injector as you can. Crank the engine until you see fuel begin to leak our of the fitting on the...

After a severe drought, my clay based soil wont grow any grass, help please :-(

You didn't say where you live. I would contact the county agriculture agent and get their recommendation. If you don't have one, I would try this: 1. Remove the top 6" of the clay soil and replace it with black dirt and a sprinkler system. or 2. Deep-till in sand to increase the porosity...

FD501V liquid cooled engine coolant leak

If you're getting coolant in the cylinders, you probably have a bad head gasket(s), a cracked head, or a cracked block. I'd guess the most likely suspect is the gaskets.

what the heck is wrong ??

Clean the carb again, only better this time. If it runs on starter fluid, it'll run on gasoline whenever you can get the carburetor to send it some.

    FR691V Sudden Power Loss Overnight

It could be a QA issue but if you haven't kept the cylinders and heads free of grass clippings and other debris, it might be an overheating issue which has allowed the valve guide to migrate out of the head. Then the rocker arm collides with the valve guide and the pushrod bends. It's not...

    Smoking after running

It's very important that the airflow over the engine is not reduced and that the cooling fins remain clean. Take off that broken fan housing, clean off the cylinder(s) and replace that broken fan housing with a good one. AT LEAST once a year remove the fan housing and clean the engine.

    Engines seize up

One of your basic assumptions is wrong. As circular items, such as the rod journal, heat up, the inside diameter gets bigger, not smaller. So let's consider other things that could lock up your engine, which was running fine right up to the point of being shut off. I'd take off the shroud and...

Kubota 326Z Diesel engine going out

Find a diesel repair shop around Lebanon who can test injectors. It's probably only one of the three that's bad and it can probably be repaired. No guarantees, but diesels are not something you want to start throwing parts at. Too expensive for that. FWIW, black smoke means too much fuel...

  35. cpurvis

Pull cord sticks, smooth with spark plug out. *FIXED*

It might be. Getting turned upside down may not have helped the needle valve in the carburetor. You might need a new needle and seat but you still need to keep the fuel shutoff valve closed any time the generator isn't being used as a precaution.

  37. cpurvis

Pull cord sticks, smooth with spark plug out. *FIXED*

You couldn't have done anything to the valves by rolling it over. If you've had it running, there is no liquid remaining in the cylinder. If it has rubber engine mounts, did one of them break when it fell?

^^^^^ This is good advice. If you're not going to be the one boring these cylinders, you really don't need any of this stuff. If you will be the person boring cylinders, you should already have a good grasp of what machinist tools are needed and how much they cost.

Yes, PRICE is usually a good indicator of tool quality unless you run into someone selling knock-off tools for nearly-full retail. Then you've paid quality price for junk. If you're going to buy quality tools, buy them from a vendor. Brown & Sharpe, Starrett, and Mitutoyo are good brands...
