    Kawasaki misfire under load

The compression is likely high. Has the valves been adjusted? If the spark plugs are sooty, this indicated a rich run condition.

Big Dog to Cub Cadet Engine swap

The FR730V on Cub Cadet should still be the 1" x 3-5/32" pto.

You are correct, they can come with the 1-1/8" as well.

Big Dog to Cub Cadet Engine swap

That is a BS24R spec. If the Cub Cadet also has the FR691V, it would be the same. As long as it is a FR or FS651, 691 or 730 and has a 1" diameter by 3-5/32" length crankshaft, you're good. FX would be fine as well, but the starter will be different.

Big Dog to Cub Cadet Engine swap

The engine numbers you listed are actually the Big Dog model and serial. The Kawasaki engine numbers are on a white label on the fan housing.

Big Dog to Cub Cadet Engine swap

If it is a similar engine, should not be an issue. The bolt pattern is the same. By similar, do you mean "same"? Like both have an FX691V, for example?

    fh491v walbro carb

The Kawasaki part number of the carburetor is 15003-7131. Kawasaki does not offer a kit for the FH engine carburetors. This engine is likely on a John Deere? Deere Deer might offer a kit. As far as the K1-LMF, this is Walbro's numbers, not Kawasaki's.

    DC Voltage Output

Whatever, lol. You hacks on these forums are a joke. If you think it is any more complicated than what I explained, is only puffing your shallow ego.

    DC Voltage Output

The minimum is 26 volt because when converted from AC to DC, the voltage is cut in half. Half of 26 is 13, obviously. 13 volts is more than the 12.7 (roughly) to fully charge the battery. Typical DC from the regulator is in the 14 volt +/- area. Most regulator specs are up to 15 volts max.
  12. T

    DC Voltage Output

With respect to Telesis, it was a "minimum" of 26 volts. Charging coils are limited by the size of the windings, the number of windings, the magnet strength and the rotating speed of the magnet. Unregulated is typically 30 to 40 volts, AC. It is then the regulators job to rectify to DC and...
  13. T

    DC Voltage Output

Amps mean nothing in terms of DC voltage output. Unregulated AC output of any charging coil is 26 volts minimum. If you have that, check the DC voltage of the battery. If say, 12.7 volts, mower not running, check again at battery with mower running at high idle. At the battery should be a...

    Exmark / Kawasaki charging amps

The part number of the carburetor will tell what hp the engine is. It will have engraved either a 5 digit number likely beginning with 4, or could have the whole number beginning with 1500. (1500x-xxxx).

It’s my time to ask for help.

Don't take it personal. Remember, you are dealing with a unit that is at least 25 years old. A lot of people have probably purged any information. I will get you and part number you want and any specs you want. Just ask.

The point gap for the engine is, 0.3 - 0.5mm (.012"- 015"). The service manual that StarTech noted is no longer available from Kawasaki.

The engine is a FZ130D-_SO3. It is doubtful that you will find very many OEM parts. What parts are you looking for. I can at least give you the original part number.

    FR651 AirFilter Modification

If someone is that cheap as to not want to change their OE filter, as part of regular maintenance, then you should probably own a cow or a goat. I haven't see many proper suggestions on this blog. Mostly a bunch of hacks.

    FX850V dilemma

There is no published service life. The service life is dependent on the proper maintenance and care given. An engine that is 20 years old or more, lets say, is not still running because it was "designed" to.

    FX850V dilemma

The 90 psi would typically be more "normal". There is no spec for what it should be, but both cylinders should be within 10% or so of each other. Has there ever been any valve maintenance performed, other than checking valve lash? If lash is set correctly, you could try adding SeaFoam to a tank...

    FX850V dilemma

If you are doing the rebuild yourself, it might be worth while. If you are having it done, I would replace the engine. An FX850V is available in EFI, but you would need to get all the controls side of it through Hustler. If this engine is using oil and smoking, it has been dirt ingested at some...

    x Mark misfires

Also, if your compression gauge is accurate, 150 compression is high. What did you adjust the valve gap to? How did you adjust? You wrote "it fires at high speed but misses at low speed", what does this mean? A coil has no determination of high/low speed. Do you have spark the whole time, but...

    x Mark misfires

What type of spark tester? If you use a gap type tester, the standard for small engines is 1/4". If the coil will jump the gap, the coil is fine. Also, connect the clamp of the tester to the rocker cover bolt, not the spark plug itself. There is a diode in the coil. Unless you remove the ground...

    FR651V oil filter choices

    Kawasaki fs691v fuel filter

The ITW filter should have a black marker mark in the side. If it doesn't I would not use it. Those filters were under recall back in 2009. Either Kawasaki number 49019-0027 or 49019-0031 will work just fine for carburetor engines. The 49019-0031 is a MUST for EFI engines. Kawasaki is now...

ID help with old blower engine

Is there a Kawasaki Engine Shortage in the states ?

Kawasaki is fairing better, for engine availability, than other small engine manufacturers, in my opinion. A lot of mower manufacturers are having issues turning out product as well. It is not just an engine issue.

@kly5953 Congratulations on the home purchase. Sounds like your father did what most people should do for getting the best service from their mower. Looks like you have a fine example to live by. Seafoam works just fine. Probably not designed to clean dirt/debris out of the carburetor. It is...

    Leak down test

A carb defect from the factory is extremely rare. And if there was a defect, it would be evident very soon in the engines early life. Carburetors DO NOT develop internal defects. Dirt, old fuel, or missing/ damaged parts are about all you'll have. Please prove me wrong. 40 years of working with...

    Leak down test

Surging is either a fuel blockage or air leak, not valve adjustment. Could also be a governor issue. When surging, if you slowly apply the choke, does the surge tend to want to smooth out? If not, then safely grab the throttle shaft, linkage or governor arm. Can you control the surge? If so...

Kawasaki FH601V-AS12 oil leak and flywheel issue

That, unfortunately, was common for those engines early on. Happens when oil is not checked regularly and kept full. Today's engine's have a direct oil port to the flywheel side (upper) bushing, to give a little help to the all too common poor maintenance.

Alternative fuel pumps for 61A SST w/Kawaski 29DFI engine

  50. T

    X-One rough idle

If applying choke helps, you need the carburetor cleaned. If you can control the surging by holding the throttle shaft, link rod or governor arm, a static adjustment of the governor is the likely cause.
