I know the summer is only halfway over, but I am already thinking about fall and leaf cleanups. This year I am really going to market this service. In years past, I have made mistakes where I don't charge more for the yards I mow, but I have to spend longer there cleaning up the leaves as well...

Personally I think the guard doesn't really get in the way (for me), and the chance of getting a rock shot in your eye makes me always keep it on. Maybe I don't mind the Echo guards because they are not as wide as the Stihls. Skinny enough to not be a pain, but still there to protect your face...

I found some photos of 2013 leaf cleanups with my HRX that I'll post below. My HRX does good unless the leaves are like sticking to the ground (it's hard to explain, but some leaves are hard to get up). So I would say it's a decent bagger. But those gum balls would be a pain to pick up.

It seems like it wouldn't be easy, but that would be a good idea. That way you can use the same width mower for the whole yard, just "shrink it" so it can get through the gates.

I have been unable to upload pictures lately for some reason....I found a different way to do it but sorry if the photo quality isn't there. First picture is of one of my not-so-pristine lawns. It is also the smallest. Some of these dandelions were almost as tall as the engine on my mower...

Yes that's what I own. The HRX217HYA. If you want to mulch the Honda is for you. The Nexite deck allows me to mow at 7:30 in the morning when there is lots of dew on the grass. I can honestly say I have not had any downtime with this machine that was not my fault. I did break the handle, but...

I stopped by the Toro dealer today....I've got to say they make you feel at home without pushing you to buy something. I got to see the 36" mower, and I really like it! I was able to drive it around the parking lot, and set up a demo for later on. Here's some pics of it.
