    needle and seat help

In the meantime, if it doesn't have a fuel shutoff valve in the fuel line, install one and use it every time you shut the engine off. It's a stop gap and shouldn't be necessary but it works.

Husqvarna 350 fuel shutoff valve location?

The old carburetor was working for 30 minutes. I doubt if it suddenly gave up the ghost. It is probably not GETTING any fuel to to send the engine and it sounds like the new carb isn't either. What happens when you dribble a SMALL amount of fuel into the carburetor throat? Will it fire...

Husqvarna 350 fuel shutoff valve location?

I doubt if it has a fuel shutoff valve. Replace the fuel lines if they're stiff or cracked. Replace fuel filter. Put the old carb back on and give it a try. This is a good time to replace the air filter if it hasn't been replaced recently. Return the new carb for credit, if you can. If it...

Stroll down memory lane for me

On the farm, by far. I didn't live on a farm but had hay trucks in high school. If you worked on a hay crew, you didn't need to go to the gym. Which was just as well because there were no gyms back then.

Briggs 3.5 won't stay running without choke on

It should only cost a few bucks to put a new tube on your old carburetor. I'll bet that fixes it. This isn't the one for your engine but just a representative of the price, etc. There are you tube videos on how to replace it...

Briggs 3.5 won't stay running without choke on

Take a GOOD look at that pickup tube. It has a screen on the bottom or it might be cracked. These things are sensitive to fuel level in the tank as well. High manifold pressure will also reduce the ability of the tube to draw fuel from the tank. My musings about how the carb works is more...

Briggs 3.5 won't stay running without choke on

The fuel pickup tube on this style of integrated tank/carburetor has a check ball in it. If it leaks, it takes numerous pulls to refill that tube before it gets to the venturi of the carburetor. It is replaceable. There is no float chamber, float or needle and seat. The fuel tank itself...

Opposed twin surging w/ odd findings

Is a '4-srew pump' a fuel pump? If so, have you checked it? When an engine winds down under load, it is usually because it isn't getting enough fuel. When it does that, remove the load and reduce the speed to idle before it dies. Let it idle for a couple minutes, then apply the load again...

What ZTR to buy, 2-3 acres with light slope, and lots of debris

Short answer? None, if you're going to hit those rocks regularly. Golf ball sized rocks would be rough on a bush hog. Marble size rocks might make lethal projectiles. I think they make spring-tooth rakes that would do a pretty good job of gathering up the majority of the rocks.

    ECH749-3016 Stuck flywheel

What is this 'big air hammer' of which you speak? The aforementioned 2 lb brass hammer used to give the center bolt a good whack is the best tool for that job. If you can feel any end play in the crankshaft, pull it toward you so that there is a little room for the crankshaft to move when the...

    TT2 diesel or gas?

I know a person who has the 72" Vanguard combination. He seems very happy with it but is only mowing three acres with it. I would imagine the payoff for buying the Kubota-powered version would show up in reduced fuel and maintenance costs. If you already have three tractors, have you...

    TT2 diesel or gas?

Who makes the engine? It looks like it's a Kubota engine. They're virtually bulletproof. They're loud when warming up and like any diesel, maintenance is minimal. All they need is regular oil & filter changes and the fuel and air filters changed. The only thing I recommend, if it doesn't come...

Cub Cadet GT3200 mowing Deck does not engage

You're right but the story doesn't stop there. As near as I can tell, the horizontal shaft engine drives a horizontal shaft going to the mower. It may be that all of the things we're seeing in the above are working fine and the problem lies with the mechanism on the mower that turns horizontal...

If vacuum is present at #16 but not at #23, #16 may be bad or not receiving a signal to open. Is there another page...

Thoughts on changing rear wheels for wider stance on Scag Tiger Cub

The downside is that offsetting the wheels puts more stress on the axle bearings. The upside is that at only 1" of offset, it won't increase stress much. The downside is, at only 2" of total offset, you probably won't be able to tell any difference between the two sets of wheels. Check that the...

Is the 722D2 a diesel? Does it restart OK? if so, then there must be a safety switch of some sort causing the problem. I would expect the seat switch for shutting off the engine when the mower is engaged, but I don't know what would cause it to shut off while idling.

    Replacement Fuel Tank No Sensor

A fuel gauge on a lawnmower is an unnecessary luxury. Airplanes have fuel gauges. Nobody uses them. Clean and mount the tank. Fill it, make a note of how many gallons to fill it. Go mow for one hour. Refill the tank, make a note of how many gallons, to the tenth, it took to refill. That's...
