    Atco Commodore B17 mower.

Yes, it is a 12 volt SLA battery that is rechargeable. Any 12 volt charger with SAE leads should work. If the battery will not take a charge, you will need to replace it. You may have a hard time finding a new OEM battery, but should be able to adapt a standard 12 volt 5 Ah battery, which is the...

    Eleven years ago

Eleven years ago, this was my stable of lawn mowers: The Husky gasser on the right has since been gifted to one of my friend's adult sons, the little WORX on the left was gifted to my next door neighbor for his five year old son so that he could help daddy mow the lawn, the silver 90+ pound...

    Greenworks 80v string trimmer problem

The charger should not continue to charge the battery if it is already showing that it is fully charged per the indicator lights. What it means is that the battery is weak, and not properly holding a charge. So, it looks like the battery is a dud, and you should be able to replace it under warranty.

    Greenworks 80v string trimmer problem

It could be a weak battery. As soon as the trimmer shuts off, push the button on the battery to see if still shows that all the LEDs are lit. If it doesn't, then that's the problem. How old is the battery and how many times has it been charged ?

New Greenworks cordless electric 3000 psi pressure washer

I just saw this review (not mine) on the Greenworks website: "Great cleaning power, far away from an outlet! I've had the 2000psi/1.2GPM plug-in pressure cleaner (GPW2006) for a few years and it has served me well. This year, though, a car accident on our property left a mess that needed a...

New Greenworks cordless electric 3000 psi pressure washer

For the first time someone has offered a cordless electric pressure washer with performance to rival the corded electric models. In fact this new model from Greenworks has the same performance specifications as its top of the line corded electric model with a maximum pressure of 3000 psi and a...

Best cordless battery mower that will last a long time

You will not find any cordless electric walk behind mowers that will last 35 years, and none that will mow 3/4 of an acre on a single charge. The mower itself could last over ten years if it has a brushless motor, but the batteries probably will not and are the big cost component of the mower.

Greenworks 80 volt Pro Charging issues

No, polarity reversal at an AC power outlet will not affect the operation of a connected appliance, it will just pose a shock or fire hazard.

Kobalt 40V brushless Quits then beeps.

The problem is that a weak battery may show a normal no load voltage, but as soon as a load is put on it the voltage will drop to the point that the tool will stop operating. Your symptoms really sound like a weak battery, and it should still be under warranty, so I'd suggest taking it back to...

Ego Select Cut - Hype or Real Deal?

Well, you would need to ask EGO if it would fit properly, but your EGO model mower is not listed by EGO as being compatible with the Select Cut blade sets. Just because you can mount them doesn't mean they will necessarily fit properly in the deck. The Select Cut decks might be deeper to...

GW 40V Elite batt has bluetooth???

Supposedly, you can scan the code on the battery to download an App that will let you communicate with the battery to see its status or even disable/lock it so that if someone steals your battery they won't be able to use it. Seems like a lot of useless mumbo jumbo to me, and I've never tried to...

    Hart mowers?

They are made by Hong Kong based TTI (Techtronic Industries), same group that makes Ryobi, Craftsman, Milwaukee, Ridgid, Green Machine and Homelite. You can find reviews on the WalMart website.

    Winter storage

The EGO and Greenworks batteries are less than 10 lbs apiece. The Ryobi batteries are a suitcase style, but I don't think they weigh more than 20 lbs.

Many of them have removable Li-Ion batteries, including those from EGO, Greenworks and Ryobi.

Battery problem for Ryobi lawn mower

Definitely sounds like a weak battery that is basically dead. It's not uncommon for a weak battery to appear to be fully charged without a load on it, but then when a load is applied the voltage drops dramatically, such that the charge indicator lights show that the battery is nearly discharged...

    Winter storage

No. Lithium Ion batteries should not be exposed to temperatures below -20 degrees C, which is -4 degrees F. You will damage them.

    Ryobi RM480E 38" riding mower won't move!

This forum needs better moderation. There's too much trolling and hijacking going on here. It's simply rude to hijack someone's thread and change the subject completely. Ryobi RM480E 38" riding mower won't move!

Just for the benefit of the trolls trying to derail this thread, the lawn mowers being discussed here use SLA batteries and NOT Li-Ion batteries. Not surprisingly, none of the problems being discussed involve fire. I personally feel sorry for the poor souls that have been the victims of the...

    EGO Mixing Batteries

Yes, they should fit just fine. They will equalize to the same voltage as the other batteries and provide about 20% more current than the 10 Ah batteries. So, all batteries will discharge at the same rate, and become discharged at the same time.

New Ryobi 80 volt lithium-ion battery ZTR Riding Mowers

Like I said, it's all about charging cycles. If you use them a lot, they won't last as long as if you use them infrequently. Apple promises that their cellphone batteries will last about 500 full charge cycles before their capacity will drop below 80%. For most people who are constantly using...

New Ryobi 80 volt lithium-ion battery ZTR Riding Mowers

This has been debated ad nauseum. Battery powered tools, especially large tools are more expensive than gasoline powered or even corded electric tools. People like myself buy them for other advantages, such as ease of maintenance, safety, quiet and clean operation, and ease of use. As to the...

New Ryobi 80 volt lithium-ion battery ZTR Riding Mowers

Well, the deck on the 54" model is made from 10 gauge steel, which is quite robust, and the mower weighs nearly 800 lbs so it's not exactly lightweight construction. As to quality, well Ryobi is not exactly the best, but their warranty is 5 years on both the mower and the 80 volt batteries...

New Ryobi 80 volt lithium-ion battery ZTR Riding Mowers

Ryobi is jumping on the lithium-ion battery ZTR riding mower bandwagon with 30", 42" and 54" cut models. They all use an innovative single joystick control that they call iDrive instead of the traditional lap bars. Although they use a proprietary 80 volt suitcase battery, they can also use their...

New Ryobi 40 volt 3-wheel Edger

Until now this style of edger could only be found in gas or corded electric models. Anyone who's used a cordless electric stick edger knows how fatiguing it is to hold up the handle with the added weight of the battery. Then, there's the constant wear on the blade as it contacts the concrete...

    Running 20v equipment on 24v.

I would not recommend buying directly from Greenworks. I had my credit card stolen on their website back in 2020. See post #48 of this thread >>> https://www.lawnmowerforum.com/threads/new-greenworks-pro-60-volt-outdoor-tools.41300/page-5#post-380051

    Running 20v equipment on 24v.

The simple answer is no, you should not run a DC motor above its rated voltage. Will it explode and kill you, no of course not. It will simply overheat and die. You might have a 10% safe overvoltage, which would get you to 22 Vdc, but you are proposing a 20% increase, which is too much IMO...

Kobalt 40V MAX push mower having issues.

Kobalt is made by the same company (Sun) that also makes Greenworks, which do sell replacement parts, so there's a possibility that you can find an equivalent Greenworks model. 62V Green Machine, new OPE line exclusive at Home Depot ...

There is no industry standard, per se. Manufacturers are all over the place when it comes to battery voltage ratings.
