Wheel Motors .. Hustler part number to Parker model number ...

Hello all. Quck question here from a forum member in Australia... According to Hustler's Service Bulletin number 513, the Hustler part number for the left side Parker wheel motor in a 2013 Super Z is 782383. Does anyone happen to know what the Parker Hydraulics model or part number for that...

CV740 27hp bogs severely under average load

Worn valve lifters will give that symptom. They are Hydraulic Lifters, and they wear out. We had a similar issue on a CH740 in a Walker. Replacing all four Hydraulic Lifters resolved it straight up.

Hello StarTech, and thanks for your reply. First up, I am a 70 year old former Kohler Dealership Owner and Service Manager. But I’ve been retired now for over 15 years. So whilst I was VERY familiar with the Kohler Command singles and V-Twins back in the early to mid 2000's, I've been out of...

    Engine smokes

Original Poster mentioned that he had BLUE smoke emitted, and some loss of power in-the-cut. But he didn't actually SAY that there was fuel into the crankcase - he just confirmed that he could smell gasoline on the dipstick. Which, unless he has no sense of smell, he SHOULD be able to .. Because...

    Engine smokes

I can't argue .. yes a bold statement, but I think that we can all agree that a blown head gasket is highly likely to be the case. And the black smoke ? .. if it was flooding enough for black smoke it wouldn't run well enough to mow. It's more likely to be the choke is sticking, and staying...

    Engine smokes

Your engine has a blown head gasket. Nothing to do with having had an oil change .. it's a single cylinder overhead valve B&S engine, so it was ALWAYS gonna get a blown head gasket. They ALL do. Your local B&S dealer's Service Manager will know exactly how much it will cost to fix coz it's such...

    DC Voltage Output

Someone should answer the actual question in the original post. So, ... There isn't. Because the B&S Alternator on that engine doesn't generate DC. It makes AC (Alternating Current). That's why it's called an Alternator. If an electrical device makes DC then it's called a Generator.

    DC Voltage Output

Txmowman is correct. The STATOR (aka the Alternator), under the flywheel actually produces between 24 and about 28 VOLTS of ALTERNATING CURRENT (AC) Yes, AC ! It doesn’t matter whether it’s a 1-Wire Stator, or a 2-Wire Stator, it’s output voltage is tested at 3,600 RPM and the Multimeter has to...

    2013 JD X320 w/ FH661V

Do you know how old this machine is .. when it was first delivered ? The should be a date-of-manufacture on the VIN plate. The reason ask is that the early model X300's were having issues with the Electronic Control Module playing up. It's mounted up under the dash, and when they were "trying to...

    2013 JD X320 w/ FH661V

As we say here in Australia .... "G'day Mate". Being a former Service Manager at a John Deere Grounds Care Equipment Dealership I have the following to offer .. The easiest way to tell if the valve clearances are way out is from the way the engine cranks over when starting from cold .. the...

What's the next thing I should look for?

Sounds like its got a crankcase air leak .. which causes a dangerously lean air/fuel mixture .. which is probably what caused your original piston damage (partial seizure). Your scored piston wasn't the cause ... it was the result. In a two-stroke engine, crankcase integrity (its...

Oil leakage @ bolt holes where deck gearboxes are bolted to the connector tube ..

Hello all. My first post here. Fitting three new deck gearboxes to my neighbour's Walker deck. After adding the appropriate amount of 90 gear oil as per the manual, we found the oil is leaking from behind the LOWER bolts that attach the gearboxes to the cast iron connector tubes. That is the 8...
