It was cold when i picked it up and it was left out next to the full trash cans Fri. From personal experience maybe the owner just had a bad day when it wouldn't start and he gave up or maybe the person never turned the gas on and "told dad"(the valve was shut off). For myself almost all the...

Craftsman Snowblower - Throwing Drive Belt

    Relatively new

I have a engine pulley off my Case Skidsteer that cracked like yours. I just had the crack welded. If the flywheel is aluminum, that's nothing. If it is the magnesium then it might be difficult to find a welding shop - it was for me and my BG75 mount breaking off.

    Older craftsman blower

Cool!! I've done that on a few items such as (original) fs80, bg75, McCullough chain saw, and echo backpack. So long as it gets the right air fuel mix, it will run. Thank goodness the carb main body hasn't really changed so you can do this.

Neighbor gave me a snapper self propelled walk behind 21" that had a Briggs big six with thrown rod.

Timbo, JC did u have to modify the blade adapter on yours? I got the old FJ180 recently and i had to modify the key to fit. Also, being the exhaust is awfully close to the chute, yours did not melt the chute? I'm afraid to bag mine and melt the chute.

8 HP tecumseh chipper, replaced Carb, Fuel line, spark plug, it has spark, but STILL won,t start

"best I could get out of it was a backfire" That may be your problem. Take off the cylinder head and see if the valve(s) are closing. At Top dead center with both valves closed, try to turn the valve. if it easily turns, the valve is stuck open. If so, remove the valve, check the gap, grind down...

    Need new cylinder??

I got around to take it apart. The rings are stuck big time. I tried chiseling the rings out with no luck. There is no play in the connecting rod bearings. I guess the owner used plain gas and not a dust problem. Amazingly, the cylinder actually looks perfectly fine. The piston had much better...

    Need new cylinder??

Worn from dust - yeah i can see that happening. When i first started looking at it, i noticed the screws holding the air filter housing to the carb was loose and thus a little gap so makes sense it sucked in the dust. After all, there are dust deposits everywhere around the carb. It feels like...

    Need new cylinder??

I have a "chopsaw" "cut-off saw" K770 where the compression is too low - 60psi. Spark OK, spray starter straight into dry cyl no go. Looking from carb side, the piston looks perfectly fine if not better than some pistons that work. My first assumption is it needs a new cylinder\piston but as...

    YARDMAN EARTHBIRD 4HP TILLER 1970 model 5020-1

If you look at the seal, somewhere you will find info on what type of seal you have. If no luck, do a google maps search for "bearing" and those shops can either find the part # or else find a seal that fits your tiller. They can find one that fits with just the shaft size and the outer diameter.

    Anyone running Microsoft's newest version: 2004 ?

Back in the "good 'ol days"(up to 2000ish), HP(like Dell and Gateway) sold PCs with parts off the shelf. That meant that your PC NIC, video card, modem, etc would work in 3 different OS versions. Then they started engineering the hardware so that if you upgrade OS, the modem and NIC didn't work...

    Hydrostatic transmission problem?

I know. I'm just skeptical that if the noise is a sharp loud squeal (which is common when this trans is low\out of fluid) I would suspect low on fluid. You don't don't get a sharp squeal noise from parts submerged in oil(very muffled if any). My Deere has the exact same trans. I found out on...

    Hydrostatic transmission problem?

The trans squealing can be caused by low oil. With low oil maybe it is foaming(thus stop working) after using it for a few minutes... Look around the transmission. Do you see alot of oily dirt sticking the trans? That could point to leaking fluid thus being low and could explain your problem. Do...
