What do you mean by the upper and lower side? Do you mean that on one side of the dipstick the X's aren't level with the other side? Mine are.

My guess is that they were just too expensive compared to other brands of mowers. But the reason they were so expensive is because they were built like tanks. I mean...just take a look at these Honda products (that are no longer made): Second picture belongs to dfbrown.

A few days after I posted the original post we got a bit of rain, but it didn't do anything for the dry grass. But soon it is going to rain again (maybe a couple inches)--today/tonight. I don't expect the grass to grow much faster, because it is (somehow) almost October and it starts slowing...

At least on Echo trimmers.... The barrier bar is used when there is a blade on it, and it is NOT to be used as a handle. It restricts rearward movement of the machine. Found it on pg. 12 of the Echo SRM-230 manual...

Some Snapper mowers have a digital monitor on the handle with the time of day, hour meter, and when it's time to change your oil, etc. That's a start, but I don't know how long the display would hold up with all of the vibrating! :rolleyes:

I don't see it on the Snapper website this year, but last year there were the Snapper React mowers that had an hour meter, maintenance reminders, and time of day. I wish my mower had a screen like that! :rolleyes:
