Good afternoon everyone,

I recently acquired a John Deere JX-75. I stripped it down for a cleaning and service. I took the transmission apart to for service. I believe it is missing the M802539: Fork Bracket and T24653: Ball. I thought that I may have dropped it, but I worked on it in a bin. Any help for locating this would be great. I am not sure how much it will effect the transmission, but any help finding the the Fork Bracket would be great. I know the ball is still available. Thank you in advance.

just relying on the image looks like that is the detent mechanism that holds the shift fork in different positions/gears/whatever that shift fork changes. Beyond that not a clue whether it was there or it got lost while apart. If you can't find it, you'll probably have to call or go see your local JD dealer to find out if it is available and the cost. Nothing comes up online except an order page which requires knowing a lot more about your mower than you shared. People here don't have crystal balls where they can see remote mowers, models, serial numbers etc., so that is the best I can do. Good luck.

I got my crystal ball back from the shop today. It showed me a Toro rider when I was looking for Husqvarna rider. LOL

Have you checked the old grease you took out? That stuff is sticky and will hide small parts easily.

Thanks for the quick replies. I thought the same about the old grease. When I opened the transmission, there was hardly any grease in there. The plate for the detent and ball was there, but that's it. It was still its spot in the housing.

If #21 was always missing you might ask the person you bought it from if they have seen it lying around.

Should not be to hard to find a parts donor
The Jx75, Jx85, 14SB, 14SE, 14SX, 14SZ,JE75 and JA65 5 speed mowers all have the same part
