brake was locked,runs good now

after getting the hydro back together and back on mower, it will not go forward or reverse.makes a grinding noise in both forward and reverse, but worse in reverse. I guess I did something wrong,so I guess I will look for a used hydro to put back in.

if I cant find the correct clip, will it be ok to weld the gear to the shaft? I see videos of people welding them to make them positive traction.i ordered a kit from amazon of 300 clips, but they are the ones you use pliers to open up, would these be ok? thanks for the help

I just pulled my hydro apart and I just have a broke clip that holds the axle in, I called sears and they want $40.00 for a little clip. that seems high to me, does anyone know a cheaper place that I can get one? thanks
