Thanks txmowman: I have not checked voltage drop, but I have a clue. The John Deere parking brake ON makes the problem worse, PUSH the brake petal when trying to start seems to help. I think if I connect an analog meter to the circuit it will show this.

I am rebuilding a JD 345 mower that has crash damage. I will be replacing the hood parts, grill parts, and front end hardware. I have purchased parts based on exploded drawings on vendor websites. Can anyone recommend a John Deere manual/publication that would help me with this rebuild?

I would like to find a full hood (two piece with fasteners) for my JD 345 tractor. I would buy the hood assembly, or would consider a junk tractor for parts. Ideas please?

My tow behind tiller uses a B&S #13l332-0001 E8 engine. After two seasons use the engine lost spark and would not start. I disconnected the kill switch wires and still had no spark. I bought a new #590818 coil from a B&S dealer and set it up (this side out) at about .010" from the flywheel. No...

Engine: #13L332-0001 E8 Coils: 590818 One from Briggs & Stratton, and one from Home Depot.

The 6.5 hp B&S Vanguard on my tiller has no spark. I have tried two replacement coils. A small engine service technician told me that I probably ruined the hall effect switch. I don't see how that is likely. I have tried leaving the kill switch wire open. No spark, hot or cold.

I chose a John Deere X322. Four wheel drive, four wheel brakes, handles on the fenders for crossing slopes.
