Non-stick for under deck of mower?

Reapply is fine, I'll see how some sort of thin layer of slick film works. Like I said earlier, the PNW where this is at, the grass is seldom dry. Many landscape maintenance companies mow even during heavy rain. Wet mulched grass sticks to the under-deck easily. I am surprised the air...

Non-stick for under deck of mower?

Silicone Spray, I'll try it. BTW, dry grass in the Pacific Northwest, NOT. Trig

Non-stick for under deck of mower?

Grass gets wet and sticks under the mowing deck on my HRN216 series mower. It builds up and ruins the aerodynamics, makes mulching less effective and even stalls the engine by impeding the blade. I clean it out good after every use. What is good to spray under there to reduce sticking? Is...

Brand New Honda ... Slightly Disappointed

Honda recommends a counter-clockwise direction for mulching. My previous mower was clockwise. Made a difference but my HRN series cut better than the previous mower (not Honda) either way.

Can't Pull Mower Backwards - HRR216VLA to bearing conversion

I was lucky.. Lowes had the one I wanted HRN216VYA. Nobody else including Home D, Honda Power Dealers or Lawn & Garden had them.

Can't Pull Mower Backwards - HRR216VLA to bearing conversion

My HRN rolls very easy, either forward or back. A slight push on a smooth level surface and it rolls about 15 feet.

Can't Pull Mower Backwards - HRR216VLA to bearing conversion

Needle bearings are not designed for side loads (movement along the shaft axis). Ball bearings are better for that. With the low weight of a mower it's likely OK for needle or ball. However, the bronze bushings are probably best of all. Normally they are sintered (made from powder) so that...

HRN Smart Drive, How does it work (vary travel speed)?

I looked at a belt and sure enough, just like gotomow posted. The belt is covered in a fabric. Kevlar makes sense since it also has a high melt temperature as well as strength. Way cool!

HRN Smart Drive, How does it work (vary travel speed)?

I was contemplating this and realized that the belt must slide over the pullies at low moving speed (a lot of slipping). The pullies (metal?) must be getting polished and the belt smooth. Seems like some heat due to friction must be present.

HRN Smart Drive, How does it work (vary travel speed)?

Thanks to all for clarifying that. I am surprised it works and even lasts a long time. Good to hear, I would rather change a belt than a transmission. :)

HRN Smart Drive, How does it work (vary travel speed)?

On the new Honda HRN (i.e. HRN216) series movers how does Smart Drive vary the mowers travel speed? Seems like I heard that it's a slipping belt system and the transmission pivots to tighten the belt. The tighter the belt the faster the mower moves. If that's true, that design doesn't keep...

    Governor Seal for GCV170? SOLVED

I have installed the governor seal Honda# 91231-891-003 on my new HRN216 mover. It has the GCV 170 engine. It fits, is the correct part. It took me about 20 minutes total, I took my time. It's disappointing that Honda opted not to include it on the engine. There was oil residue already...
